About Me
AVAILABLE NOW..childcare in your own home. I have 32 years plus experience working with children and have been a childminder and a nanny, both live in and live out. I particularly love helping parents and newborns and helping both through the first few years. I have supported parents with challenging circumstances. I have had 4 children of my own but only one still at home, I don't drive but walk and cycle mainly (This does restrict me to local work currently just in Windsor apart from temp/occasional nearby). I love dogs and cats, gardening, art and craft. I tend to favour a more relaxed approach and value creative play highly. (due to not driving I am only currently available in Windsor) I have a love of environmental issues and really enjoy learning WITH children and young people through researching, talking, project work, craft, trips and cooking. I like to build a really good working relationship with my family and help where possible. I have been primarily 121 as a nanny but have also had a few years as a nanny share, which works really well also. I appreciate the challenges different family setups can bring and have always tried to offer a flexible service because many people need that. My Experience
I have worked as a special needs teaching assistant, a teaching assistant, a private nanny, a child-minder and a nanny. I have also worked in the local leisure centre crèche and indoor soft play area where I also ran holiday club sessions. When my youngest was a toddler I ran a church playgroup and also set up a support group for single parents. I am currently a private nanny working 4/5 days/evenings pw which vary and have 12yrs experience as a Brownie Pack leader and 5yrs experience home educating (which I am also happy to assist with)
My Qualifications
I have a Foundation degree in Working with Children and Young people (Level 5), Basic counselling stage 1+2, a current First Aid certificate and am Ofsted and PACEY registered and insured. I have completed a number of other courses including safeguarding, a certificate in health and social care and several childcare courses from both Pacey and Childcare.co.uk
My Availability
I am available for flexible hours and as a nanny share. Thank you My most recent/current family have moved and I am doing occasional days to support them. We like to do lots of play-based activities and we love visiting parks, places of interest and making lots of things with art and craft materials. I am looking at potential new placements and can offer flexible hours. I do not tend to tick the boxes for availability as I negotiate my hours around the families needs.
