About Me

I am a trust worthy and respectful person. I pride myself on my work and my positive and motivated mindset. I love to work with children as I find it super rewarding and it is so lovely to see their social skills and personalities grow. I approach childcare with a lot of patience and mindfulness. I have been training in mindfulness and meditation for the past two years and this has definitely impacted my growth as a person which then benefits my work. I love to cook and find it important to make fresh and healthy meals from scratch. I also love being walking and being surrounded by nature and wildlife.

I am moving to Hastings in September due to wanting to be closer to my family and to be in a community with like minded, creative people.

My Experience

I have experience in childcare, nannying and housekeeping. My time in childcare was spent looking after 2-4 year olds in Australia. Some of the roles I had here included preparing lunchtime meals, setting up daily activities and supervising the children through out the day especially during playtime.
I have worked at Bignor estate where I was the house keeper during the summer of 2014 after I returned from Australia. I was trusted to clean the house unattended and this was also the case while working in a family home in 2019. While working for the family I was a key holder and would be left alone to clean the house. I also was a nanny for their 13 year old son. I would do the school drop off/pick up and would cook for him and look after him sometimes in the evenings while the parents were away.

Another job role was Nanny/housekeeper for 3 children between the ages of 5yrs-6months. I worked here for a short amount of time due to covid-19. While I was here I was trusted in having a house key to let myself in and out of the house while I was working as well as having the mothers bank card to do their weekly food shop. Other house hold chores I did was laundry, stripping and making beds, cooking meals for both parents and children, cleaning all through out the house and sorting out the eldest children's toys. I loved looking after the 3 children especially the eldest boy who had autism. I have had previous experience working with autistic children when I worked in Australia. I developed a strong bond with all children and I loved being able to watch them grow and know that they trusted me and enjoyed their time while I was caring for them.
My hours consisted off either early mornings to help get the children ready for school, making pack lunches and then cleaning their house or I would do all day caring for the children while parents where working as well as cleaning and cooking evening meals. I loved this time as I would do various creative activities with them including baking and painting and I was trusted to take them out in the days either to the beach or the park.
My role when looking after their 6 month baby would be supervising while having mat time, changing nappies, feeding and putting him down for nap time.

Currently I am working for a family with 3 children aged 8 months, 2 yrs and 9yrs. I have worked with this family for a year and have built a strong, solid bond with the whole family. I started helping mum out while she was pregnant with her third around the house doing house chores like ironing, cooking, organising etc but mainly it was to help out with their 2 year old son. I would be involved with his evening/night time routine which included making the boys supper, reading a story to the him while eating, bath time and then getting him ready and putting him to bed. I have continued to do this once the baby arrived and helped mum more out with school pick up and after school clubs for the eldest. I have been fortunate enough to attend two holidays with the family where I helped out with traveling, babysitting and any additional help needed.
I also babysit for them and do any additional days which includes weekends. I babysit for all three children where I do bedtime for the two eldest while mum puts the baby to sleep and then I am in charge of his feed or to comfort him if he wakes up where I soothe him back to sleep until mum arrives home.

I have loved my experience working with this family and I would love to have something similar to this role in my next role. I have built such a loving bond with all three children and to watch them grow has been such a joy.
