About Me
Since graduating in 1996 with a BA Ed (Honours) I have been employed by various independent and Local Authority schools in the South West, teaching a variety of ages (Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and as a private tutor (Leaping Learners Private Tuition) teaching the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum.
I have been a member of Girl Guiding Uk since 1978 and have been a leader of Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units. My more recent appointments have been joint District Commissioner and Division Adult Leadership Qualification Coordinator.
I also enjoy fundraising for ‘The Luhimba Project’, a small Weston-super-Mare based charity which supports the improvement of education, health and agriculture in a remote village in Southern Tanzania.
My Experience
In my most recent teaching post in a school in Worle I taught Reception and Year 1 for twelve years. I was a member of the school Senior Leadership Team and Early Years Foundation Stage Leader for nine years .The EYFS was judged as ‘Outstanding’ in 2010 in all categories inspected (outcomes, the quality of provision, the effectiveness of leadership and management and overall effectiveness of the EYFS).
In my previous teaching roles I have taught Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes and children of Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.
I have also had a wide experience of evening/day babysitting, nannying, working for playschemes/activity camps and as a nursery nurse in nursery schools.
Leaping Learners Somerset (Education and childcare services) - I am available as a private tutor for 3 - 11 year olds (Leaping Learners Private Tuition), to teach pre-school/nursery workshops, parent and child classes for 3-5 year olds, parent advice on how to support their child's learning at home, for day childcare/babysitting (including before/after school), as a part time nanny and also provide a local evening babysitting service.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £33.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £9.50 per hour
Individual Private Tuition - £33 per hour or £28 for a 45 minute lesson.
Pairs/small group rates on request.
Childcare from £9.50 per hour (for local evening babysitting) depending on role.
