Hello my name is Sharn i’m a fully qualified nanny and am based within Leigh on Sea, essex. I am a very experienced individual with over eight years of childcare experience and enjoy getting to know each child in their own unique environment whilst working as a nanny.
I am a very trustworthy and reliable person, who has a passion for caring for children and ensuring that every task/job I do with 100% passion.
I am a caring individual that loves to work within a relaxed and comfortable environment with children and I am looking for a long term family to work with.
I have great organisational skills, as well as being able to manage time to the best of my abilities. Communication skills are second nature to me and I enjoy bonding and working with children of all ages and my experience ranges from 3 months to 15 years old, aswell as being a mother to one little girl I also have newborn experience.
During my spare time I enjoying visiting the gym to keep fit by taking part in exercise classes and running on the road occasionally. I regularly go swimming when I visit the gym. I believe that taking pride in my health and well being and others is important.
I enjoy outdoor activities and believe it’s very important to do different daily outdoor and indoor activities with children to help them grow and develop to their full potential.
My Experience
I am looking for a family that Is willing for my daughter to occasionally come to work with me or a part time position that I can work around her.
I have previously nannied for a family of two children, in which was a lovely family unit to be part of. The children were 1.5 years and 3.5 years old. I looked after them on a weekly basis and was also available for adhoc days and babysitting evenings too.
I took the children to outdoor days out such as the farm, strawberry picking and also park visits. We also enjoyed indoor activities too.
I planned each week to include different activities, as part of the day I made lunch for them and was responsible for preparing basic meals for dinner.
Whilst working within the family I took one of the children to school and picked up when old enough and did bath time and carried out bedtime routine, for when the parents arrived home.
I have also nannied and babysat for serveral families age ranging from 6 months to 11 years old and have experience within different environments but am very committed to working to each families expectations.
During college when training for my childcare qualification I had a different childcare placements every 3-4 months during the 12 months of studying and training. I have had a lot of hands on experience with all different ages of children in different childcare environments.
Some of my placements included, taking care of preschool children in a local preschool, working in different nurseries such as creative kids in the 2-4 year old room, here I took part in holding story time and creative art activities. I also worked in a local school in the 6-7 year old classrooms, helping in playtime duties, collecting the children from lunches and ensuring activities in the classroom ran smoothly.
During my school years for my work experience I worked in an independent children's nursery in the babies room for 2 weeks while here I took part in feeding, changing and entertaining different ages in the babies-2year old room, as well as putting children to sleep and checking that all documents were up to date.
Growing up I have helped bring up my two cousins who I cared for on a weekly basis by taking them swimming, visiting different places on days out as well as babysitting them over night and dropping them to and from school when needed.
I also do regular babysitting at weekends and evenings caring for regular children from babies of 3 months up to 11 years of age.
My Qualifications
I have achieved level 3 in childcare (CACHE) I am trained in paediatric first aid for children, as well as emergency response trained, which includes first aid in swimming pools and resuscitation. I have also recently completed my emergency first aid as well.
I achieved a level 2 certificate in health and nutrition.
My Availability
I am currently looking for 1-2 days a week and are availed for evening and weekend babysitting too.

We have had the pleasure of Sharna looking after our 14mth old both in the day and evenings. She is reliable, respectful and has good attention to detail, finally she is a very good communicator. Our little one just adores her and always has lots of fun. I would not hesitate reccomending her services.

From day one of meeting Sharna, her passion for caring for children was evident. Like every mum who is leaving their precious child with someone for the day I'd always had anxiety about handing my daughters over and heading off. To say Sharna helped with this process is an understatement. Not only was Sharna able to read the emotions in My kids and think on her feet about how to best settle them, but she was also able to read my feelings and instil the confidence in me that I needed to leave and face my day or evening.
As well as wanting to make each child she cares for have a fun, fulfilled time - she also makes a real effort to get to know each individual child and celebrate what makes them great. Sharna is thoughtful and skilled about how she supports children in their development.
As you can tell we think very highly of Sharna, and wish her success and happiness in everything she does.
