About Me
I have worked in the childcare industry on and off for the past 10 years ranging from nurseries to schools. I am currently on maternity leave with my first child who is nearly 9 months. I will not be returning to work and have undergone a Home based Childcare level 3 qualification as I aim to register as an ofsted registered childminder. I have a current enhanced DBS and paediatric first aid. I understand where parents are coming from when leaving their child with someone new and just want to reassure you that I am an approachable person, and respect each each child and value their differences and abilities. I am a bubbly character who is happy to answer any questions which you may have.
My Experience
I began working in nurseries and schools whilst I was at school and did work placements for 2 weeks. Whilst here I gained knowledge on the ever growing environment which children are placed in. I have worked in a variety of childcare settings some which have been government funded and also privately. With my passion to promote the development of those within the industry I learnt my structure from the guidelines which are put in place by the EYFS and can meet any child's needs within the guidelines.
I have worked in America a few years ago (twice) as a camp counsellor and also baby sat on the weekend to 2 twin boys ages at the time 9 months and then went back the following months at the age of 1 and a half. Whilst here I ensured that they were kept safe, fed, nappies changed and put to bed.
I also worked at a camp whilst in the states as a camp counsellor taking children to activities and ensuring that they where kept safe.
I too at have my own child who is just 7 and a half months and I am currently on maternity leave, my current role is Family Support Worker for a charity that support families whom have terminally ill children. I have experience providing emotional and physical support to immediate family members (such as siblings and arranging days out) and also external family members (grandparents and so forth by allowing them a safe space to speak).
I have completed my level 3 home based childcare qualification, paediatric first aid, understanding autism. Whilst on maternity leave as I am in the process of becoming an ofsted registered childminder.
