I recently asked shelly to childmind for my two children. She is well informed, up to date with everything and completely organised. I am taken a back by how amazing she is. I know my children are going to grow and learn from her and thrive in a nurturing and exciting environment. Thank you, you're a star!!

As a first time mom to the most beautiful little girl, I had planned to take my full maternity allowance and spend every day with her!
As usual plans don't always go to schedule, and for one reason or another I am returning to work when my daughter will only be 6 months old!! (Even writing this sentence terrifies me!) I frantically then began my search for child care as original childcare plans were no longer possible, and as you can imagine there are waiting lists everywhere as decisions like childcare are planned months in advance!
After visiting a few local nurseries, and feeling utterly disheartened I felt I couldn't leave my most precious possession in their care! Feeling like I had no other options, my parents suggested child minders! (Thank god they did!)
After registering with childcare.co.uk I found Shelly! I read through Shellys profile and I was impressed! we set up a meeting the following week for myself & husband to meet her! Well we can honestly say we were blown away!
Shelly was welcoming, polite, refreshingly honest and a natural in her own surroundings!
Her home is beautiful and amazingly equipped for the children in her care! Within 10 minutes with this woman I knew she was what we wanted!! She showed us round her home, and spoke about what things we could expect for our child!! Shelly spoke with professionalism and passionately about her job!! Shelly was prepared and organised for our arrival, she talked us through her year plan as such and then on a smaller scale the lesson plans/objectives for the month, even detailing phonics classes! Shelly or her plans could not be faulted!
Most of all, Shelly was keen to interact with my daughter and even asked to hold her, naturally my daughter became unsettled as new surroundings and people but un-phased Shelly soon settled her down! Not sure about other moms out there but this was an amazing reassurance to me! My daughter clearly felt safe in her arms! That spoke volumes!
Although I can't comment any further as my daughter has yet to commence her care with Shelly, I can honestly say I feel at ease and far more relaxed about returning to work, and I only have Shelly to thank for that! Thank you Shelly you are a god send to our family I cant recommend you enough!

I joined this website and Shelly was the first childminder that I saw. I'm a first time mum and was looking for a childminder to have my little boy who will be seven months old. I read her statement and the reviews and really liked what I read. We exchanged messages first and I already knew I was going to like her.
I was invited to meet Shelly. Straight away I was made to feel welcome. The environment is lovely and so is Woody the dog! There is a great range of activities for the children in different rooms of her home. I particularly like that she cooks with the children and there's story time every day. Her garden is amazing with lots of personal touches. She clearly has a great understanding of how children develop and learn. She emails photos of what the children do with her which I think is a great way of sharing those special moments.
It's very daunting thinking of leaving my little boy whilst I go back to work but Shelly has put my worries at ease. I know Teddy is going to be happy and cared for. Thank you Shelly xxx

I went to visit Shelly in her setting as I was looking for a childminder for my son when I return to work.
I was greeted at the door by a big smile and felt comfortable straight away, she took my partner, my self and baby into her house and we sat down and had a long chat about everything a first time mother wants to hear, she went through all policy's and showed certificates and the guide lines for early years assessments , I felt very happy and pleased withi this, she listened to what we had to say land answered any questions we had. She then showed us around her setting, I was amazed with the play room as had lots of toys and new learning opportunities , I loved she had childrens work up in the play room so the children could see all their lovely work. She then showed us other areas where they eat, do creative activities , food tasting and making. Also was shown the outdoor area which is amazing , lovely garden safe and with lots of things to do including the play area. I had been to previous child minders and left happy but when I left Shelly I said to my partner I don't want to see anyone else I want her to look after our little boy, she just seemed right for our little man, people told me you will known straight away when you leave and I did, I'm so happy my little man will be joking her and the other children in June , I know he will be loved and very well looked after. We are due to place our two children with Shelley in May and couldn't be happier about our choice of childminder. Having met her it is clear that not only is she highly qualified, she is also amazing with the kids. Her home is really warm and welcoming too. Our (usually shy) pair didn't want to leave! Very excited for May!! xx

My baby girl is due to start with Shelly at the beginning of February and I'm very glad that it will be Shelly she'll be with. I was very nervous at the prospect of leaving my first child and returning to work, but meeting Shelly really put my mind at ease. She was so welcoming and Annie spent the whole time we were there smiling and laughing. Its lovely that the children can take part in such a variety of activities and I love the fact that at 8 months old she'll get the opportunity to do things like cooking and spending lots of time outdoors, with the park being so close.
I can't say that I'm excited about returning to work, but I know my baby girl will be well cared for and doing lots of fun things with Shelly while I am there, and I'm certainly a lot less nervous about it! :)

My 1 year old son will be starting with Shelley in January, when I return to work. I was really impressed with Shelley's profile and arranged to go and visit her. Shelley has a special warmth about her and Lucca was very at home as soon as we stepped in. We felt very welcome and I know Lucca will love all the different activities. I feel very comfortable about leaving Lucca as I feel sure he will be well looked after, which is something that you hope for when leaving your child for the first time. We are both looking forward to starting the new year with shelley :)

Having researched and looked at many profiles, Shelly's qualifications and years of experience appealed to me to want to meet her. Upon meeting her, I knew she was going to be fantastic at caring for my 9 month old daughter Freya while I returned to college.
Returning to college was a huge deal to me as we had never left Freya with anyone. Shelly completely understood why we were uneasy with this big change and completely put us at ease.
Every day Freya comes home smiling and seeing her interact so well with Shelly is fantastic considering she was only used to her inner circle until now.
Shelly's relaxed and calming attitude and warm and friendly home are perfect for Freya and it is great to know not only is she being well looked after but she is also learning and has structure in her day.
Could not recommend Shelly any higher, she is a lovely person and how my daughter has reacted to her in such an amazing way in such a short period speaks volumes to me.
She smiles as soon as "Auntie Shelly" is mentioned :)

I had met a few childminders which I liked but I still wasn't 100% sure.
That was until I met Shelly, as soon as I walked through the door I thought this was the one!! Her home is lovely and garden fantastic, plenty of room for little ones to run round and have fun.
She has separate areas for children to play, eat and learn. Even though Jessica will only just have turned one when she starts with Shelly, I like the fact that her days will have a bit of structure and routine, as well as having fun.
Jessica is my first and it's going to be difficult going back to work, especially after over a year off, but I know she will be in safe hands with Shelly.

I met with Shelly after finding her profile on here, and my 4 month daughter Evie will be starting with her in January.
Shelly put me at ease straight away, as a first time mum I was completley clueless but she managed to answer all the questions I hadn't thought of without me having to ask. Her home is a warm and firendly environment, and I was particuarly happy with the way she interacted with Evie... as other childminders I had met had been more interested in telling me about their fees and holidays!
Returning to work and leaving Evie is going to be so hard, but in Shelly I have found a childminder who I feel comfortable leaving her with and it makes it that little bit easier :)
