About Me

Hi, my name is Ffion! I'm a 21 year old university student from the UK.

I am super passionate about working with children and families. I am currently in the second year of my university degree studying both Early Years and Psychology.

I also work part time as a supply teaching assistant/nursery nurse with a company called Randstad Education.

I have a lot of experience working with children in different ways, and I have loved every single experience.

Most recently, when not at university, I have been working as a supply nursery nurse which I adored. I was working both in the baby room (aged from 6 weeks to 18 months) and throughout the rest of the nursery which caters for children up to the age of 5. I have experience with changing nappies, bathing and minor first aid (thought not qualified). I have also had safe guarding training.

I have also worked in a number of schools both in their Early Years departments and their Primary Years.

Furthermore I have experience working in SEN Schools, working with children with a variety of special needs such as ADHD, Autism, ODD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and many more. I have also worked closely with a family who's 3 year old son had a delayed speech disorder and I worked closely with his speech therapist, resulting in sustained and continuous support.

Before attending university, I took a gap year in 2012 during which I was a Teaching Assistant in a reception class at an International British School in Abuja, Nigeria.

During this time I also worked with a variety of families by babysitting, providing homework and school help, holiday nannying and also working as a private tutor.

I have a full DBS check clean and no anomalies of any kind.

As part of my university degree I have studied child development, working with parents and carers, child theorists and qualities of best practice as well as completing a counselling award.

I do not and have never smoked. I also do not drink alcohol. I don't have any allergies or affecting health problems. I don't drive, however, I would feel confident using public transport to travel with children.

I really look forward to hearing from you!
