About Me

I have been a childminder for the past 8 years. I am a married mum of two children: a boy aged 16and a girl aged 12, who both love having other children in the home.

I have completed the CACHE level 3 course in working in Home based childcare, and have up to date Safeguarding and First Aid certificates. Me and my husband are DBS checked.

I offer daytime care for children under primary age. offer school drop off and collection from Richard Lee Primary school. I’m available Monday to Thursday between 7:30am and 5pm, plus Friday morning school drop off (but no after school collections on Friday).

I have a background working as an Occupational Therapist which required qualities that I bring into childminding such as care and patience. I encourage children to develop independence in appropriate activities and provide opportunities for children to develop skills in line with the early years framework.

I take into account each child's individual needs and interests when planning activities, and work in partnership with parents, providing regular feedback about their child's progress.

I have an interest in arts and crafts. In our house we enjoy creative activities such as junk modelling, den building, baking, chalks, painting and Play Doh.

I am happy to support children with their homework and provide them with work space at our breakfast bar.

For younger children, I have a wide range of age appropriate books and toys such as Lego, puzzles, games, cars and garage, train track, dolls and musical instruments. I also like to use natural loose parts for open ended play to spark the children’s imagination. We enjoy playing out in the back garden, planting and growing vegetables, getting messy in the mud kitchen, trips to the park and other local areas. There are a number of local groups that I go to with children in my care to promote social interaction.

I have a full clean driving licence.
