My Summary

My Experience

I travelled to Aspen, Colorado for 10 days with a family to nanny for their 2 year old son while the parents were on a business trip.

I did a probationary year when I came out of college. I lived in with the family near Shaftesbury, Dorset. The children were 1 girl aged 3 and 1 boy aged 5.

I then started with a family looking after boy/girl twins who were 1 year old and a 3 year old girl. They lived near Winchester, Hampshire when I started and then moved home to near Salisbury, Wiltshire. I was with this family for just over 3 years and left because the children were all at school full time and I was having my own baby. I sometimes lived-in and sometimes went in daily depending on the hours I worked as it was 50 minutes from my home.

I then had another daily position and was after school term time and full days during holidays. I cared for 2 boys aged 12 and 10 and their younger sister who was 7. I did this alongside another job which is still one of my current positions. I cared for these children for just under 3 years.

I then had a daily job and I took my son with me. I cared for a girl aged 4 years and her brother who was 2. I was there for just over 3 years so cared for the boy since birth.

My current job is 2 days a week caring for 7 year old triplets and their 8 year old brother. This is also a daily position. I have been with this family since September 2013 and took a year out for maternity leave between June 2015 and March 2016

I also currently work in a nursery 3 days per week as a nursery assistant in the pre school room.

My Qualifications

I trained at Norland College and completed the 2 year course to gain a Diploma in Childcare and Education, equivalent to Level 3.
