About Me
I have been working as a childminder in the Norristhorpe area for over 20 years. I am a fully trained nursery nurse with a Level 3 NVQ in childcare. I work alongside my husband, Richard, who is an Ofsted registered assistant with a diploma in childminding. Both of us are paediatric first aid trained. We are known as Little Buttercups Childcare.
We have strong connections with Norristhorpe J and I School and Norristhorpe Playgroup. We can also pick up/drop off at Roberttown Primary School. We offer a warm friendly welcoming home where children are all treated as individuals. The children have access to a very well-equipped setting with a spacious outdoor area. We do lots of our learning outdoors and like to give the children lots of different life experiences. Younger children enjoy craft activities, trips to the library, playgms parks and Eureka. The older children enjoy crafts, games, opportunities to do their homework and various other activities. During the school holidays we take the children on plenty of outings to the seaside, parks and museums. We make healthy balanced home cook meals and have a varied breakfast selection.
We are graded as Good with many Outstanding aspects by Ofsted.

My Experience
I have worked as a childminder for over 20 years, my husband has worked alongside me for 12 of these years. We have 2 daughters aged 20 and 22 who both live at home with one a full-time primary school teacher and the other studying at University to become a special educational needs teacher. Our daughters are very hands-on within our business despite having their own careers, they are a valuable part of Little Buttercups and offer us constant support which helps us keep up to date with the educational side of our business.
I have had experience working in a primary school and have looked after children my whole life. We make an excellent team and our main goal is to keep children safe, happy and excited about learning.

My Fees
- Childminding from £3.50 per hour
£33 per day from 7.30 -6pm.
£7 Before school 7.30 -9am
£10 after school until 6pm includes evening meal .
These prices include all meals and outings. All children have a home cooked evening meal

My child has been attending Little Buttercups Childcare for 9 years and I couldn’t be any happier. My child is happy and very well-cared for. My son has had more experiences than I could have ever imagined, he has been on trips to the; seaside, national trust parks, museums, Lake District and many more.
When my son was younger he enjoyed taking part in lots of creative activities to help him with Early Number and Writing.
I am a primary school teacher myself and I am throroughly impressed with Julie and Richards knowledge and understanding of how children learn. I would also like to comment on the food, Julie’s cooking is amazing and I am often very lucky to sample it myself!
My son wouldn’t be the child he is today without Julie and Richard’s input, I can’t thank them enough!
