My Summary
About Me
Hi, I am a CIW Registered childminder in Cowbridge. I have been married for 28 years and we have three children, 27, 25 & 20 yrs old. My non-smoking house is situated in the heart of Cowbridge in a very quite no through road with plenty of safe parking outside. It's within a short walking distance to the High Street and all the surrounding amenities. Already having 3 children of my own this has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience.
I keep upto date by going on courses so I can offer you the very best of childcare which I pride myself on. I enjoy all aspects of cooking, baking, arts and crafts and being outdoors enjoy the local countryside. My dedicated play room has a little reading nook, various role play outfits, flitsat table for the children to enjoy our current themes plus many games & puzzles for all ages. My secure family friendly garden offers a mud kitchen, tuff tray, sandbox, slide, ride on cars, balls, football goal to name just a few. I live a stone's throw away from a field which we often go over to, whether that's to play bat and ball or to pick fresh flowers to press. It's a great way to enjoy the local community areas.
My 7 seater family car has all the correct car seats availabie for every age/stage required. My car insurance covers myself and the children in my care.
My Experience
One of the greatest benefits of Home Childcare is its flexibility and quality. I can offer you with my childcare, is a tailor-made plan suited to your requirements. With a family style environment and a low number of children I can plan for each Child's individual needs, development and interests.
I support your child's development by offering them the best possible start to life. I follow the 7 areas of learning as these experiences enables them to build a foundation which ignites their enthusiasm and curiosity for learning in a safe, stimulating environment.
When you choose for your child to attend a childminding setting they are not one of 50 children in a huge setting. They are not just a number... they become part of your family, part of your household and part of your life!
I only care for a low number of children in my setting as their safety comes first.
I’ve also had experience with twins/triplets.
I offer trips to local farms (we used to live on a farm so we often pop by to help feed the horses, collect egg that the chickens have laid fresh that morning, watch sheep in the fields)
I attend the local toddler group, Happy Hands, the local play park, soft play, storytime and music sessions weekly. These give plenty of opportunities for fun and socailising. With the advantage of just a small number of children we discover and explore at our own pace. Whether that be visiting the libary, lots of art and craft at home, picnics in the park, walking along the beach collecting shells or stones to paint. We also look at the environment such as the trees whilst watching the birds make their nests and feeding their young, watch and feed the ducks, making mud pies, looking for bugs or taking leafs and pine cones home for decorating. Being a member of The National Trust I also offer lots of visits to Dyffryn Garden and in the school holidays Tredegar House & Cardiff museum. During the warmer months we visit often to St. fagon's, The Knapp (Barry), Amelia Trust and Margam Park just to name a few and of course visit the local Fire Station where the children love sitting on the fire engine.
