My Name is Jess Callaghan and I am 29 years old.
I endeavour to provide high quality childcare and education within a setting that can be a home from home. It is important to me that all children feel safe and comfortable in order to express themselves fully and reach their full potential. I aspire for continuous professional development and improvement through a committed, enthusiastic and high quality practitioner with the main goal of seeing the best outcomes for the children.
I feel that providing children with a vast range of activities and experiences whilst maintaining a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere is of paramount importance in helping to create well rounded and confident children. Offering a bespoke development plan for every child is a main objective whilst still the main focus remains on the individuals interests and needs. It is important for each child to be and feel valued whilst in the setting so that they can flourish and reach their full potential.
It is my main aim to provide a warm and nurturing environment for each child to reach their full potential. I pride myself on providing a family oriented environment in which family interaction and involvement is encouraged in every step of the way.
I am an extremely happy bubbly person who loves working with and alongside children.
I adore working with children and take pleasure when I work with them. I have worked with children for many years and it really is a passion.
I am not a smoker and have no children, I have two nieces who i love to spend time with. I live at home with my partner Ryan and my golden retriever called Newt .
My Experience
I have worked as a fully qualified level 3 as a deputy manager at a nursery which catered for children from 6 weeks old to 5 years old. I worked there for 4 years and spent time with all the different age ranges of children. Looking after their daily needs like nappy changing and personal hygiene. Throughout my time I was the designated safeguarding lead, SENCO and support system for both children and parents. I was a really important part of my role to work in partnership with parents and other professionals to put the children's best interests at heart and focus on them.
I have 3 years working at Bilton Grange school. I worked in the reception class of children which ages ranged from 4-5, however did work along side and up to the age of 7. I worked as a classroom assistant and my many duties included supporting the children with their work, planning and undertaking activities, taking small groups of children for support work. I worked 1:1 with the children as well as over seeing small groups.
During the year of 2015-2016 was spent working 1:1 with a special needs child. My duties included being in charge of her safety and well being, supporting her everyday needs, like going to the toilet, eating and getting dressed.
I am fully DBS checked and have an intensive first aid paediatric training. I have extensive safeguarding knowledge and certificates.

Level 2 diploma in understanding autism
Level 2 diploma in Understanding children's mental health
Level 2 diploma in understanding challenging behaviour.
Intensive Paediatric First Aid Training.

A wide variety of various safeguarding courses which include level 2 safeguarding, online safety, FGM, prevent, neglect and more.
