I am an enthusiastic,caring,self motivated person.I have 12 years experience working with people with special needs.I am a happily married lady with a 29 year old son.I also have 2 fur babies being our cats.I love reading and it helps me being imaginative.I do like going for nice walks and love a good view.I am a happy, friendly person .
My Experience
I have 12 years experience in working & caring for people with
Learning disabilities & mental health behaviours.
I have worked as a support worker / nanny for a family on Bracknell with 4 children.
Including a 12 year old girl who has disabilities due to meningitis
as a baby. My responsibility was supporting the family whilst implementing a structured routine for all the children including daily school runs,homework and activities.I have built a strong,special relationship with the children and they have a good,structured routine which helps the siblings bond and learn with each other despite the challenging differences they have.
I was also a senior support worker and shift leader working for choice care group.I worked at a care home in Datchet.This was a resident home for 7 people with different forms of learning difficulties ranging from Autism to learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.I was at The Whitehouse for 8 years and enjoyed my time there.I excelled in my role from support worker to shift leader despite not having any experience previously.I was a key worker to 3 off the residents and thus included various forms off personal care,mental stimulation,activities and educational and pleasure routines.There was a enormous amount of responsibility with administering medication and dealing with challenging behaviours.I built a strong rapport with my team,my service workers and their families.
I have also just finished working for a lovely family on a temporary basis . Looking after a young boy & keeping him entertained.
My Qualifications
9 GCSES at school level
NVQ level 2 and above renued annually
Protecting people in a learning disability setting.First Aid trained.Protecting people with learning disabilities from abuse.Principles of learning disability support,values and attitudes.SCIP - Physical interventions,manual handling,Epilepsy,Makton sign language.
I also have a up to date DBS.
My Availability
I am working at a special needs school in Slough at the moment I have also been a special needs nanny . i am available for any communication or interview process if given enough notice.I am very flexible with working hours and have worked weekends previously.
