My Experience

As a busy mother of three, I am well aware of the demands and responsibilities involved in caring for children. I have no doubt that the experiences that I have had already with bringing up my own children help me in my role as a childminder.

My Qualifications

As part of my pre-registration training I successfully completed the CACHE CYPOP5 Course (Understand How to Set Up a Home-based Childcare Service) at North Hertfordshire College which is required by Ofsted. The course covered a wide range of subjects including child protection, health and safety, child development and behaviour management. During this time I also obtained my Paediatric First Aid Certificate and attended training on Safeguarding children. Since registration I have also attended courses run by the local Childrens Centre where I attend network meetings with other Early Years professionals. I believe it is vitally important to continue to further my training and refresh my skills in order for me to provide a good quality childcare service.

My Availability

From September 2022 my working hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Friday 3:00pm to 5:30pm. During school holidays I will be open 8:00am-6:00pm Tues-Thurs.

I understand that from time to time special circumstances can arise where you may require me to adjust my hours to accommodate a meeting or appointment. Please ask and I will try to assist you wherever possible.

I will normally take five holiday weeks per year, most likely being one week at Easter, two in the summer, one in October and one over Christmas and New Year. My personal holidays will be given in advance to allow you plenty of time to make other arrangements.

Term time contracts preferred.

I will not charge for my holiday. Holidays taken during Hertfordshire school holidays will not be charged for.

I do not routinely work Public Holidays and I do not charge. In special circumstances I may be willing to work Public Holidays but the charge will be 1.5 x my usual hourly rate.
