About Me

My name is Angela Fitzgerald. I am a registered childminder in Llanfihangel Talyllyn near Brecon. I live with my daughter Amara who is 12 and my partner. I have one small dog, she is vaccinated and visits the vet every year for check-ups.
I worked for several years as a support worker which I really enjoyed. Sadly it involved many hours in the evening and so I registered myself as a childminder in 2010 and worked in the childminding setting Fun Days at Esme’s in Llanfihangel Talyllyn for several years. During this time I registered my home address so that I can childmind children from my home. I have an up to date First Aid and Child protection and have regular refreshers courses to keep up to date with new regulations. I have finished my NVQ level 3 in Child Care, Learning and Development in 2014.
I am registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) to care for 3 children under 5 of which no more than 2 under the age of 18 months and 3 children of school age up to 12 years, one of which is my own daughter. I open at 7.00am and close at 7.00pm from Monday to Friday.
I aim to provide a homely, loving and nurturing environment where each child is encouraged to develop to his or her full potential. The children have a well-balanced and nutritious diet, with a strong focus on fresh fruit and vegetables. Eating together is encouraged as a social activity, which provides a strong focus for the day. The primary language used in the setting is English with some intentional and conversational Welsh.
I have a secure garden for the children to play in and have recently made a fairy garden with logs to sit on for outdoor story time.
I enjoy taking the children out of the setting on outings which include the library, playgroups, the park in the village and Llangorse Lake.
