About Me
Originally from Glasgow, I moved down to London in 2012. With over 10 years teaching experience, I have taught many different year groups, and many different children. Children all learn in different ways, and I enjoy getting to know each child and understanding their learning needs; what makes them tick, what things they enjoy about learning and how to get the best out of each child.
I have worked in both the private and state sector and all three schools I have worked in, have been deemed outstanding.
I regard myself as a dedicated teacher, hardworking, enthusiastic and meticulous.
My Experience
My main expertise lies in online tutoring for:
* 11+ preparation, ensuring children are aware of how to answer both consortium style questions and ISEB (online) test papers.
* Teaching children how to answer verbal and non-verbal reasoning papers.
* Interview techniques to help them get into the school of their dreams.
I also have availability for home schooling-rates to be negotiated depending on
Parents of pupils that I have tutored have been so incredibly supportive, and I now tutor children as far as Estonia, Dubai and Russia. The power of positive word of mouth!
I also have experience of working with, and tutoring- reception and year 1 pupils using a more kinaesthetic approach.
My ability to form a good working relationship with children is regularly praised by the parents of children that I have the pleasure of working with. References available.
My Qualifications
I have a BA (Bsc) Degree in education. I have been teaching for over 10 years in the primary sector.
I also worked for Barnardos for 2 years as a play and learn practitioner so I have experience of working with children aged 1-5 using sensory experiences to help children learn.
