My Requirements

LOCATION: Warfield, Bracknell

ABOUT THE FAMILY
Mum and dad, 7 year old boy and 13 month old
Girl. Dad is self-employed and mum works four days per week from home.

ABOUT THE CHILD
A very affectionate and very sociable little boy who loves having lots of interaction – playing, reading and dancing with a great ear for good music! He started a special needs primary school at the beginning of September 2021.

He is autistic with ADHD and semi verbal; he is extremely active and cannot sit still for long at all which can be fun.

He loves to be around people and as such, it would be great if the person looking after him doesn’t mind being the centre of his attention for play!

Although he has a speech and language delay, he is very eager to speak so others understand him but at times can “hit” in frustration when he feels he isn’t being understood.
He isn’t clingy at all and is generally very easy to look after, provided he isn’t hungry, has been read some books and gotten fresh air. He is very cheeky and will ask for sweety (pweety). He is a foodie and loves good food - so if it tastes good, he’ll eat it! Be aware that he does have milk, nut and eggs allergy – any productions containing traces or ingredients should be avoided. Instructions will be given.


ABOUT THE JOB
Someone to help mum on Saturdays (11am-4pm)

The nanny will be an extension to our family. Therefore, we are looking for long term support. We’ve had a great nanny but unfortunately she is moving away from the area.
Some additional ad-hoc hours may at times be required like school holidays if you are available but will be communicated in advance. If we travel away on holiday we may ask if you’ll feel comfortable coming with us to help us out - flight, accommodation and food will be paid for. This again will be communicated well in advance.
Additionally, if I want to take the kids a outing on Saturdays nanny should be able to come with mum.


Essentially we are looking to hire a caring nanny who has lots of patience and understanding; gets satisfaction from caring for children and seeing them develop. Happy to get on the child’s level and play; and most importantly their key priority is the child being safe, happy and eager to see them again.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Caring for pre-school and school-age children (preferably with additional needs, particularly Autistic children
• Supporting with use of potty/toilet and general self-care such as changing clothes, wiping the face, washing hands etc.
• Supporting with feeding at mealtimes with wet-type of food.
• Playing and reading with children of similar age groups.
• Honest and reliable
• Excellent time management skills
• Able to take direction but also work autonomously using initiative
• Natural problem-solver – not afraid to ask questions but also able to come up with solutions
• Ability to exercise patience and calmness
• Great interpersonal skills - able to communicate with children at their level as well as with parents
• Clear communicator
• Great attention to detail (due to allergy it is important to be aware of possible cross-contamination when preparing food)
• Clean and tidy and meticulous hygiene standards

RATE
£15 per hour net
