About Me
My name is Mandy & I am married to Mick. We have two beautiful girls, Amy is 25 & registered as my assistant & Lily is 21. We live in the Gleadless area of S12
I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder for 23 years. When I had Amy in 1997 I was working in the Civil Service & returned after just 3 months maternity leave, sending Amy to a Childminder. I soon realised that I no longer wanted to do this kind of work, I wanted to at home to be with Amy but also needed to earn money. I handed my notice in, became a Childminder myself & never looked back.
Both my girls are following in my footsteps, wanting a career working with children.
Amy finished at Hallam University in June 2019 & is now a Qualified Primary School Teacher & Lily has completed a NVQ level 2 & 3 in Childcare. She works in a Nursery & is studying to become a Teacher at Sheffield Hallam University
Amy helps me during half term on outings and helps plan activities with me.
My Experience
I became a Registered Childminder in 1998 & in the 21 years I have cared for over 60 children. In this time I co-worked with another Childminder for 4 years. I ran a local weekly Playgroup for 6 years, planning activities for 15-20 children.
