About Me
I currently have a 25 hour part time job at a school so am looking for childcare work mainly on Wednesdays but can also do weekday evenings from 5pm. I am also available before 9am on weekdays as the school is my priority. I am a recent Theatre Arts graduate from Middlesex University. I am a polite, hard working and enthusiastic person who enjoys being outside and active, especially when the weather is good. I worked onboard cruise ships for just over two years.
I enjoy playing sports especially netball as I used to play it at school. I like listening to music so generally have it on in the background when I am cooking. Another hobby of mine is watching all sorts of movies, from old school classics to the guilty pleasure of a Disney or Pixar film once in a while (Toy Story 2 being my favourite).
My Experience
Although I have not received a degree regarding childcare, I have been in a working environment with children. I spent two weeks work experience at Knightwood Primary School (Southampton) as a teaching assistant in 2010. I then had training of being a Dance Teaching Assistant where I taught 20-25 minute sessions to children aged 7-11.
In my most recent job working for Royal Caribbean International, I was in close contact with children working at the Rock Wall, along with the parents.
Between my first and second contract at Royal Caribbean I worked a week at a residential school accommodating students where English was not their first language. This included running daytime and evening activities such as rounders, photography sessions and a disco for approximately 30 children. This was a live-in working environment and helped me to state things in simpler ways as they did not understand English, similar to some young children whose vocabulary is limited.
My Qualifications
I have a BA Theatre Arts (Design and Technical Theatre) degree from Middlesex University.
