About Me
I've been working with children for over eight years in multiple different settings. I have worked with a range of ages from birth to 11 however mainly work with 2-4 year olds. I specialise in special education needs and disabilities with a focus on autism and speech and language delays, I am currently working as SENCo in my setting.
My Experience
I have worked at four seperate settings over eight years in many different roles and have spent the last two years focusing on supporting children with SEN, particulary children with autism and speech delays. I have experience using interventions such as PECS, visual supports, makaton, conversation strips, sensory interventions and speech interventions.
My Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Applications of Psychology
- Undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminology
- Level 3 in Childcare
- Level 2 Autism
- Level 1 Picture Exchange Communication System
- Makaton in practice
- Additional training: Speech and Language, Children's Mental Health, Encouraging Positive Behaviour, Understanding Autism, English as an Additional Language, Autism and ADHD in Girls & Special Educational Needs.
- Blended Paediatric First Aid (12 hours)

I am currently reducing my hours at my work and although not actively looking for odd jobs, I am keeping my eyes open for experience working more within my chosen area.
