My Summary

My Experience

I gained significant experience working with children whilst I was a primary school teacher for 15 years in Turkey. I taught Maths, English, Science, Turkish, and all core subjects to a group of children between the ages of six and twelve. Since living in the UK from 2013, I have over two years fulltime childcare experience with children between two months and two and a half years old. I prepared and suitable meals, planned indoor and outdoor activities, accompanied the child to parks and activity clubs, gave toilet training, and taughtskills such as basic hygiene. I continue to provide childcare to friends and neighbours on a voluntary basis.
Through my previous work as a primary school teacher and as an experienced child minder, I am able to provide high quality care by planning, providing and taking part in play based activities that stimulate and support children’s intellectual, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. In addition to this, I am able to plan, observe and keep records of the child’s development to inform their parents and carers about their child’s day.
I have also volunteered at the Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women's Organisation (KMEWO), helping Kurdish and Turkish women to enrol the courses that the KMEWO have provided for unskilled women with children.
I am a native Turkish speaker, and speak English and Kurdish at an intermediate level.
