About Me
I am a caring,fun,bubbly and vastly experienced primary school teacher who is very passionate about my work always giving one hundred percent and a ‘can do’ attitude in all that I do.
I have a positive attitude that comes across in my personality and I am calmly confident in all of my work based abilities. I am hard working,reliable,trustworthy and I am always willing to go that extra mile for the family and child which I am working with!
I always hope to make a positive impact on the children in my care and the parents and family also,building a long-term partnership. I like to share with mum&dad/carers a little something that we have been doing that day before i leave so that family then have something to discuss with the children and can ask them about their lesson/activity. I also offer to do a diary for parents if they wish. I think it is extremely important they feel included.
My main priority is to make sure that children in my care are safe,happy and secure. I take great pleasure in watching them learning,growing and beginning to reach new developmental stages but also grown in confidence as an individual.
My Experience
Having spent over ten years working with children, embarking on and completing a PGCE course has given me the opportunity to develop my skillset and become a caring and effective primary school teacher.
Starting as a teaching assistant shaped my understanding of the individual needs of pupils but has also allowed me to appreciate the importance of effective differentiation.
I have a deep understanding of the National Curriculum with specific focus on Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Using different techniques to help build pupil resilience and promote self-evaluation is extremely valuable.
Previous experience across the EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum has allowed me to recognise some of the challenges that pupils experience and address them in my teaching. Creating a safe, positive learning environment whilst at home is the key to pupils feeling comfortable, which in turn allows them to take part and take risks. I have worked hard to ensure that each of my students feels valued and heard. Additionally, I strive to ensure that my tutorial lessons are inclusive and this helps me to stretch and challenge each and every child to fulfil their potential.
High standards of literacy are crucial for pupils to effectively make the required progress.I have an already extensive knowledge of phonics and the range of schemes involved in these sessions, helping children to de-code words, blend and sound out correctly. Helping to learn this then also impacts hugely on children’s reading skills.
I really enjoyed to support learning and create an effective learning environment using visual aids for support where needed and incorporating technology media into my work to ensure that love of learning.
Each child develops at a different rate and for me it is this individual improvement that is essential.
