About Me
I am caring, honest and dedicated to any job that I do. I love working with children and love to see them progress in different ways (socially, emotionally, educationally and so on). I believe that all children are able to progress if they are provided with the right opportunities to do so. I also believe that children learn differently and that teachers/tutors should cater for these differences when planning lessons for the children.
Children learn better in non-threatening learning environments. They should be free to ask questions and not be ashamed to make mistakes. I aim to provide an environment that is conducive to learning for the young people that I work with.
I teach secondary school maths (years 7 to 9 only at present) and the 11+ curriculum. I am able to help children complete homework if that help is required. I also tutor in the summer holidays.
My Experience
I am a teacher by profession with qualified teacher status. I have over 18 years experience teaching in schools in London. I have also taught in schools overseas for a total of 3 years.
In addition to working in the classroom, I am specially trained to help children who are underachieving in maths and I have worked in this role for 4 years.
My Qualifications
Degree in primary education
Degree in mathematics and statistics
Master of Art in educational leadership and management
other relevant training including specialised maths training and safeguarding
I am first aid trained
I am DBS checked and can provide evidence of this if required.
My Availability
At present, because of the present Covid-19 pandemic, I tutor online. I am available to teach late afternoons, evenings and Saturdays. I am a bit more flexible during the summer holidays.

My Fees
- Tutoring from £20.00 per hour
My lessons are reasonably priced, starting at £20 onwards. Please call to discuss. I tutor small groups and do 1:1 lessons.

Marsha uses very effective teaching methods. She worked with my son and she challenged him really well. He thoroughly enjoyed being tutored by Marshall.
