Anita provides a warm, homely childcare setting for the children she looks after. During, the time that she has spent with my son, Alfie, I have watched him grow and develop more than he did at nursery. He has always been very quiet and often gets overlooked in a large setting. So I have always been worried about the amount of attention he receives and its effect on his social skills. But with Anita, she ensures she spends time with every single child and is nurturing to their needs. Whether they need a quick cuddle or just want to tell her about their day, she’s there for them.
She is very creative and will often make things with the children. Alfie has come home with a range of items he’s crafted, including a foam treasure chest, a foam castle, a little flowerpot with daisies in, mosaic pictures and even wooden spoon puppets! I always enjoy her showing me what she has purchased to craft with the children next. She will also (if you’ve consented) take pictures of the children holding their masterpieces and will send them to you or sometimes print them out, which is a lovely touch. On the run up to Christmas she always gets the children into a festive mood and this year made my son tear up as she’d gotten him a letter from Santa, telling him how good he’d been and was on his nice list!
She’s not afraid of being firm with the children, which sometimes they can need!! But she is always fair and will reason with them in a nurturing way. She explains to them unacceptable behaviour and she will always discuss this with you upon arrival. She is diligent and informative at all times and keeps you up to date with everything the children have been doing whilst in her care. Which is especially reassuring if you’re a bit of a worrier. You can even message or call her during the day to check up on them if you need to! She never stays on long though, as her focus and priority is caring for the children.
I could literally go on and on about how lovely Anita and her childminding services are. She has truly been an absolute pleasure in our lives and we are so thankful for her being such a caring, reliant, constant figure over the past few years. We are sorry to be leaving! But as I am relocating to South Yorkshire, it can’t be helped. I wish her all the best in the future and will definitely remain in touch.
