My Summary
About Me
Hello! I’m Hannah and I’m 22 years old, DBS certified, paediatric first aid trained and starting my fourth year of studying Primary Education at Nottingham Trent University in September! I consider myself to be a very positive person who always wants to help with anything whilst encouraging and supporting others. I love working with children and got the opportunity to do several placements and opportunities teaching young children. First year was focused on EYFS and KS1. I am now back in Nottingham and have received my timetable and majority of my lessons will be online which means I will have a lot of availability. There will be some specific dates I will not be available but these can be discussed at a later date. I am always smiling and enjoy looking after children both at home and going out to the park, town etc; I could do activities with the children to help stimulate learning and that they would enjoy. If that is something the parents would want, but I would ultimately want the child to feel happy and comfortable with me.
Given the current situation, I am more than happy to help provide support for online learning/additional learning. Equally I am happy to stay with the children inside/garden and find fun things to do or go on walks. I am more than happy to take on more work and time with the child/ren both in the house staying inside or safely taking them into town, to school or any after school classes for example.
I am trained in paediatric first aid as of April 2019. I also spent 4 weeks teaching a year 4 class in my hometown, 2 days a week in charge of the class. Once schools had reopened in June, being the second then main class teacher for in person teaching and planning and setting up lessons. Whilst also incorporating online learning with other teachers and students during these school days. I spent last year on a 3 week placement in Year 2 and also some time in a reception class. I have just completed 7 weeks teaching and planning for a Year 1 class and throughly enjoyed it!
I have lots of experience working with and looking after young children and can provide references when asked. I have nannied for children before and been babysitting since 2013. I also worked in a preschool from 2018-2019, which I really loved and got to know so many children. I love looking after children and I would love to be able to help anyway I can and help keep children happy! Especially now things are beginning to open up again and more family members may be heading back to work and need additional support.
I am currently living in Nottingham from September and I am local to the West Bridgford and Wollaton area. I can’t drive but do have a bus pass to get around!
I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have!
My Experience
I have been a regular babysitter for many families since 2013 from ages 18 months to 14 years old. Most recently I have been looking after younger children; last year I looked after an 18 month old through the day till bedtime. I got the chance to take the child out and explore new places for them. I also worked in a theatre school (Theatretrain), every Saturday morning, for 3 years, for children aged between 6-18. This gave me the opportunity to work with children of a wide range of ages as well as the chance to use drama, dance and music with children. I most recently worked in Sancton Wood Pre-Prep school in their preschool with 3/4 year olds, from November 2018 to July 2019. I really loved this job and got to work with the early years curriculum and seven areas of learning and link to different subjects.
I also spent two weeks this summer and last year working for Cambridge Joint Playschemes, working in a holiday club for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This involved travelling on a mini bus with the children, supervising in and outdoor playtime. Lots of creative work such as baking, painting, colouring. We also used light and sound rooms frequently as well.
I did two separate placements with my uni course this year, one weekly with reception and getting to teach. Another (Year 2) for 3 weeks (sadly cut short), where we were in every day and teaching small groups, in year two. References are available on request too.
My Qualifications
I achieved 8 GCSEs A-C, and a btec in August 2016, including English, maths and science. I also attained 3 A-levels in August 2018 in drama and theatre studies, psychology and English literature. Alongside these I have also been volunteering with early years and ages 3-7 in a primary school since 2016; most recently working with 3-4 year olds there. I am DBS checked and have Paediatric first aid training from Lilley's. I am also currently in my second year of Primary Education at Nottingham Trent University.
My Availability
I am currently available Wednesdays and possibly Fridays in the day, and weekends. I am available most evenings but I am able to provide more specific dates after discussion. I will be available for online meetings/interviews or face to face if that is preferred from them. Whatever is most comfortable for your family!
