I love to cook and like to keep meals varied, healthy and interesting.

My Experience
Jan 20 - present - I have a casual role as a Residential Support Worker in a children's residential home supporting looked after children and young people with complex needs such as severe autism, mental health and learning disabilities. Providing all aspects of care, on an individual and group basis, including preparing young people for independence, helping to implement individual care plans, and undertaking household duties. It is my role to promote health and safety, keep them safe, educate and empower them, improve their independence and support them to achieve their milestones with the aim of making the transition into adulthood a smooth and enjoyable one.
Aug 2018-February 2019 I was taking care of a little girl under 2 years of age in this role i enjoyed: planning, providing and taking part in play based activities that stimulated and supported her intellectual , physical, social, emotional and language development.
Listening to, encouraging, enabling, stimulating and ensuring her safe keeping.
Changing nappies, bathing and dressing her and teaching her how to wash and dress herself.
Taking her to toddler groups and encouraging interaction with other children and adults.
Administering first aid and medicines and reporting in changes of behaviour, ill-health and accidents.
Mar 2006 – Jan 2010 I was a healthcare support worker on a children's ward where we gave a family centered approach to care and I would provide support and reassurance for both the child and family members involved. Helping nurses, doctors and other medical professionals care for children, monitoring vitals signs reporting and recording patient conditions. Supporting the needs of vulnerable children and young people identifying, protecting and caring for those at risk.
Sept 2000-Jan 2004 I worked in a private nursery which also provided after school, breakfast and holiday club where we took care of children from 3 months -13 years old. I worked in all areas and enjoyed watching children grow and develop in to their own little personalities. In this role I helped care for children with autism and a range of other learning difficulties.
I have also had a variety of babysitting jobs from a young age and have looked after children of all age groups from small babies of 6 weeks to teenagers.
My Qualifications
I do not hold any childcare qualifications as I have been namely working as a Health Care Support Worker for 14 years where I completed yearly in-house training including basic life support for children and adults, manual handling, food hygiene and DBS checks.
