About Me

Hello,

My name is Lucy and i have been studying and employed in a childcare environment for the past 14 years.

I am an energetic, hard working, dedicated qualified child carer with a positive, caring attitude. I am trustworthy and reliable and passionate about providing a high standard of care and fulfilling all opportunities to ensure all aspects of well-being are being met.

I am willing to travel within the local area as i have my own car and happy to use this for work, i have business insurance on my policy already.

I have a very supportive family, I do not have children of my own so would be available all year round.

I am very honest, so i am going to say i have never worked as a nanny before, but as you can see below i have an extensive range of experience and qualifications including 2 degrees. I have been employed as a healthcare play specialist in a children's hospital since 2012 but the time has come to spread my wings in another direction and have a career change.

I will have to give my notice at work but would be available for an immediate start once this period has been served.

My Experience

I have an extensive childcare background and whilst gaining qualifications I have completed a range of hands on placements in a variety of settings such as private families, primary schools, nurseries, special needs schools and children's hospitals. During these learning opportunities i have a wide range of experience with children aged from newborn up to 18 years. Within these experiences i have gained a high level of knowledge of child development and milestones and how to promote play and implement activities.

Over the years as a play specialist I have worked with hundreds of lovely families and had the honor of being a small part of their hospital journeys and being able to include play in their experience is humbling. Putting a smile on a child's face during some of their darkest times is so rewarding. The patients on my ward are long term and from day 1 i build a positive rapport with them and work hard to gain their trust in what is an unpredictable situation.

In my current role i ensure the the children are welcomed into a loving, safe environment and organised activities are provided to suit their needs from developemental play to art and crafts and i hope to continue to provide this in the future.

I have to be extremely organised in my current role and be prepared to quickly adapt as the hospital environment is forever changing as are the patients needs. I adhere to a strict cleaning routine to ensure everyone is kept safe and my playrooms are maintained to a high standard.

I am looking for a new role within a family who will welcome me into there lives and i hope to provide some fun adventures and make great memories.

My Qualifications

I have a 10 A* to C grade GCSE's, BTEC at triple distinction grade in Early Years, a HND in advance practice in working with children and families, and a FDA in healthcare play specialism.

I have attended a wide variety of study days on topics including disability, mental health, autism, makaton

I also have a clear DBS check and a clean driving licence.

I also recieve yearly updates on both adult and paediatric life support and first aid training.

I am also qualified in forest school assistance and strongly believe in the power of taking learning outside the home.

I have a portfolio of certificates that can be shown upon request. I also have lots of family testimonies, feedback reports and appraisals that can also be shared if required.

My Availability

I require a full-time role and would be willing to help with household tasks whilst children are in education or sleeping.

Thankyou.
