Home from home

Reviewed

Our little boy started at Stanstead Mill at 10 months old. After a lovely settling in period (1 hour, then 2, then 4, then two almost full days) he went full time (8am-6pm) five days a week.

He's the first baby in our extended family to go to nursery, so we were a bit nervous, but we had absolutely no reason to worry.

He loves Stanstead Mill and the team who look after him. When we carry him up the stairs he gets so excited, and he lights up when he sees the staff and children.

He eats really well - he clearly enjoys the freshly cooked food (better than he gets from us!) and it's made him a better eater at home. He doesn't drink as much milk at nursery as he does with us, but that's probably because he eats so much food!

In the photos we get he always looks so happy. The weekly music woman who comes seems to be his favourite person in the world! He also is getting more and more social, which we think is because he gets to play with other children all week. There's a great selection of toys and we love seeing the pictures of him trying new things, like mark making.

He loves playing outside, splashing in the water toys, and pointing at the ducks. He loves them so much that we think "duck" is his first proper word!

He doesn't nap brilliantly there because he tends to need to be in his own cot in the dark, and that would be the only thing that could be better for our particular baby - a quieter and darker room for the smaller babies to nap in.

We're so happy we chose Stanstead Mill for him and it really is like a home from home for our little boy.
