About Me

I am a creative, energetic and responsible nanny/babysitter. As a nanny/babysitter, I can provide support to busy/working parents that require someone to drop off and collect children from schools or nurseries and participate with any outdoor activities such as taking children to the park or the library. I can also support children by providing help and support they may require to complete homework or any other additional support they require. I also ensure that a safe and secure environment is always provided to children. Furthermore, I have a PVG certificate as I work with the University of Strathclyde and have worked with nurseries as I am in regular contact with children. PVG certificate can be provided on request.

My Experience

I have experience working with all different age groups and caring for young people. I have worked children from the ages of 4 to 17.

I am currently working with the University of Strathclyde, part of the Widening Access Team in relation to the Focus West Programme. In which we inspire and motivate young people that come from areas with socio-economic deprivation. We target schools and colleges which sends a low proportion of pupils to University, those living in 40% of most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, children that have spent time in care and returning students (mature students). I support students by helping them realise their full potential by raising aspirations, providing advice, information and guidance. In which I play a key role in motivating young people by doing a range of activities to develop their skills and prepare them for further education/university study. In which we treat every child equally whether they have additional learning support or disability. I have worked with children with additional learning support and make sure that I can guide them individually so that they are motivated to achieve their goals and ambitions. I individually discuss with each child their goals and aspirations so that I can direct them in the right direction by making them aware of their career opportunities. I’m dependably there to support and help the young and hopefully by fulfilling this duty I try having a positive long- term impact on the young person. I focus on supporting the growth, development and advancement of the young. I accomplish this by acknowledging a young person’s goals, objectives and ambitions for me to provide them with positive feedback. I try making a positive impact in their life by supporting them in their journey of getting to higher education, academically and supporting their decision, choices and pathways.

I have proactively sought teaching experience; I undertook work experience in a local nursery. In which I had a key role of a nursery teacher, in which I had to interact in a positive attitude towards the young children and parents. I had to greet parents with a smile and an optimistic attitude. This is a key skill to have in this role as you should be able to interact with people in a pleasant attitude. My role also including preparing, implementing and executing activities. The knowledge that I have gained working in a nursery is that now I am aware of how to communicate with colleagues and how nurseries should be managed. In this role, I had the opportunity of communicating with parents which gave me the ability to become more confident.

As seen from my experience I can interact with a wide range of age groups and can create a positive and professional relationship with each child.
