not reliable

My son was with Jess for four months. He had never been in a childcare setting before. When we was looking for the right childcare for him, one of our requirements was flexibility. We had two set days and times, but before a contract was signed I asked Jess, if my partner had a hospital appointment and I asked in advance would she be happy to keep hold of my son an hour or so longer on his days. I was told this was no problem at all and she would even be happy to do days that we’re not his allocated days if she was able and to ‘always ask.’ Jess’s childcare is far from flexible. There was one occasion in the whole four months that she had my son outside of scheduled hours. We were never given a reason just told she had plans. Then one day upon asking again if she could do an extra hour, paid hours I should point out. There was no response until a day later and the response was that she had sent an email. The email was a termination of his contract. Again no explanation, no reason. When I politely asked I was told ‘ I do not need to give a reason or discuss further with you.’ Our contracted hours were 8-3:30. On arrival of picking my son up there was never anyone there and I would have to drive round looking for them on the school run. Our hours were then changed without any discussion, communication or change to the contract, to 3:45. So we were paying for an extra 15 minutes a day just because the school run took longer. I had previously offered to change our hours to 8:30-4 but was told no. There was no thought or consideration toward my sons feelings when terminating his contract. He had only just settled there and stopped crying on drop off. These are just a couple of many things that happened during his time there. So if your looking for reliable and flexible childcare this is not the one for you. He has since settled much quicker and happier elsewhere with the flexibility to help us out too!

lovely lady

Jemma looked after our little boy when he was only 8 months old and she was brilliant, he loved her and she even bought an activity for him to do. Highly recommend.
