Hi, my name is Claire Jones. I live with my husband Scott, our two daughters Neve and Esme and our pet dog Charley. I’m so excited to share my news, I am now an Ofsted registered Childminder. Becoming a childminder is something I’ve been looking into for a few years now, it's not a decision I’ve made lightly. As a qualified nursery nurse my routes are caring for children and introducing them to early years education. Having been a community nursery nurse for the last 12 years, I have loved my job but I feel now is the right time to open my own setting and go back to my love of caring for children.
I’m an experienced childcare practitioner, qualifying as a nursery nurse in 2003. Over the past 16 years a have worked in Education and Public health. I have worked in a number of childcare setting from schools, day nursery’s and creches. This has allowed me to gain experience of working with children from ages of Birth to 11 years old. My specialized age group being birth to 5 years.
For the last 12 years I have been working as a community nursery nurse in the health visiting service. My role involved assessing children’s development, as well as supporting families with toilet training, sleep problems, eating habits and challenging behavior. I’ve loved my job but I have missed working and caring for children (yes even though I have two of my own). Having my own setting has always been a dream of mine. I feel now is the right time to go back to my routes and I’m very excited that this is finally coming together.
