As well as plenty of experience working with babies, I am also a Kindergarten teacher with many years experience working with children, parents and schools. I know the EYFS backwards and I have had four of my own children and know about the depth of love and the bond with one's children - and respect parents needs, feelings and ideas. I have two small dogs; love walking, nature, animals, reading, playing with children, crafting with children, cooking/baking with children...anything with children. I have a playful nature, am kindly as well as know the need for boundaries, firmness and routine - which gives children security. I am fit and active, full of creative ideas...which is why I resonate with children. I am extremely organised! I know how to plan ahead, make lesson plans, weekly plans, half termly plans, shopping/cooking plans - you name it - I can successfully plan and help life run smoothly, which actually makes it more fun for children. I also can respond to spontaneity very easily and change a plan in the moment, if it better suits the child...this is the nature of being a teacher. I don't mind at all, transferring my skills to nanny and childcare work. I have a lot of personal teaching resources I have created, good at singing children's songs and telling wonderful stories, having a penchant for Grimms Fairy Tales - which I find children truly like. I love wellies and muddy walks with interested , exploratory children!
NB: I can also be a caring companion for adults and the elderly in the child's home and am not shy of housework and cooking, if this fits in with the child care - which is the priority. References are available.
My Experience
Early Years / kindergarten teacher. Full time nanny for a 4 month baby, 2, 5 and 7 year old. Nanny for a 13yr old and 11yr old with autism for 7 months. Worked in a nursery, the baby room and the 1.1/2 to 2 year old room. Though mainly working with children under 8, I also easily interact with and have worked with older school children. Mother of four. Having had teens myself I also have a few tricks up my sleeve to help them have fun and care. Emergency first aid. Always open to further training. Expert in arts and crafts, baking and cooking, reading and writing with children; i.e. I can easily help children of all ages engage with their interests and tasks.
My Qualifications
GCSE's. A levels. level 5 certificate in Teaching Early Years. Level 3 in counselling. HNC.Open in Child Development. Paediatric first aid & Emergency first aid. Food & hygiene L2 cert. Children and Youth Support Worker Level 2 (i.e. I could be a TA). Loads of experience with children and if there was a qualification in fun, I'd have it with a distinction :)
I owned my own business for ten years:- Qualified in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Remedial Massage, Lymphatic Drainage (Vodder method). Exams in anatomy, physiology and some pathology...knowing the body really well helps one look after people, as well as not be squeamish about bodily functions and hygiene.
My Availability
I have noted the days and every time in the table below; so that we can negotiate what hours suit us both. I would prefer a 20 to 35 hour week but more or less is negotiable.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
FEES/RATES ARE NEGOTIABLE, depending on the situation:- according to how many children, distance travel costs, how many journeys you need, times of day/night, types of duties (tutoring on top of caring, personal care, cooking, cleaning).
