Hello, my name is Amanda, I have a son of 5 years old who i absolutely adore. I am currently working in a SMEH school. I have a wide range of experience working in both mainstream and special schools. My well mannered nature proceeds me in the workplace and wider society too. I'm a mature woman who is trustworthy and honest, I understand how important this is in my field of work. I respect authority and have a strong sense of responsibility to uphold the rules of the workplace. I’m punctual, reliable, and ready to begin a new venture I commit to and grow with. I am always keen to learn new things and adopt new techniques. I excel in client-facing positions and working with people, I love to work in a team although I am confident executing tasks alone.
I'm very enthusiastic and creative. I love to set up mini art lessons and other ranges of activities which i provide for my son, the child who i currently babysit and at work. I also enjoy walks to the park and take both children to the indoor play in my local area. I love to read, visit library , local farms and animal parks.
I have a wonderful garden which provides outdoor activities which as a trampoline, football actives and a new slid. I have a areas which is filled with grass where i love to explore the mini beasts with my son and the child i am currently babysitting.
I also have DBS and i am on the DBS update system.
My Experience
I have been babysitting a child for over 4 years since the age of 2 years old which is now 7 years old. I do all of the above activities with both my son and the 7 years old. The parent is very happy with me and calls me on all occasions when need for babysitting. I also pick her up from after school club and take her sometimes back to mine or either her own house. I also babysit her over the half term holidays and do activities such as trips to fun fairs, museums, zoo's and any live outdoor activities available. On rainy days i stay indoors and do indoor activities such as painting, reading, baking and many more activities.
I've also been a support worker for 3 years and have a wide range of experience working with children. I use different strategies and Technics to understand and talk to children when they need calming down or just someone to talk to.
I also have one to one experience, supporting a autistic child helping them with there work and behavior. i have been on trips and i am able to manage behavior outside of school premises.
