Friendly, responsible 21 year old seeking work as a Nanny. I think of myself as an active person who enjoys being busy all the time. I try my best to be as organised as I can and I pride myself on my time management skills.
I am definitely an outdoors person. I enjoy discovering new places in my areas to walk my dogs or long cycles and runs if I'm extra energetic! I love to read and discovering new authors.
I love discovering new countries having spent some time living in Barcelona and Vancouver in Canada. Languages are something that have always interested me since school.
I have always loved working with children. The challenge of creating new, interesting games and activities to hold children's attention is something I have always enjoyed.
My Experience
I have a variety of experience that I believe have given me important skills for looking after children.
I have volunteered in a school for children with additional support needs. I assisted teachers in helping children to complete a predetermined curriculum. I was able to work with children who needed different amounts support. I learnt to tailor my assistance to help each child differently.
I spent four months in 2018 living in a neighbourhood in Barcelona and working as a language assistant in a school. I worked with children aged 3-11 to improve their conversational English. I used songs, games and created my own activities to encourage their learning. The children helped me develop my knowledge of their culture, whilst I taught them all about mine.
In September 2019 I travelled to Vancouver Island in Canada to work for a family as an Aupair. The children were 2, 4 and 6. I was there in the mornings to carry out the morning routine and assisted with the school and daycare drop offs. During the day I would do the children's laundry and carry out some light housework. I regularly accompanied the children to after school activities and assisted with dinner prep. I would occasionally be left in sole charge of all three children for date nights or if the parents had work commitments that required them to travel for overnight.
My aupair contract sadly ended a lot earlier then planned in 2020 due to the pandemic. I have been working in primarily home care and hospitality since this time but I have missed working as a nanny and I am looking to start up again!
I am able to provide good references for all experiences above mentioned. I have a valid UK drivers licence with three years of driving experience.
