Hola! I'm ofsted registered and fully insured. I have 15 plus years teaching experience (qts) & 3 of my own children. I offer a nurturing Reggio Emilia inspired setting with small ratios and strong, loving relationships. Having been a teacher, my emphasis is on enabling children to learn through play, and to encourage their interests through a learning environment, set up to give children choice and build their independence and social play using both outdoor and indoor experiences. We will have regular excursions together with access to creative, humorous and fun learning opportunities (e.g.Coolings Nature trail plus more) that develop a deep love of learning. My Experience
I have 15 plus years teaching experience ranging from primary through to A level/IB age both here in the UK and internationally (Norway). My teaching specialism is Science and I am bilingual (Spanish/English) I also play the piano and flute. I am currently under going forest school training.
My Qualifications
PGCE (level 7) & PACEY EYFS Home based child care course. Tiger Lily Paediatric First Aid. Several CPD training including how children learn, the child's brain, brain development, Dylan William's Black box assessment, Safeguarding, CP and more.

My daughter has been with Maira for over a year and loves her days with Maira and her kids. They go on lots of outings, to local playgroups as well as parks etc they always seem to have a lot of fun. Would definitely recommend!

My experience with Maria was absolutely wonderful!
She was incredibly warm and caring and clearly passionate about her job.
My daughter was so happy with her, she took my daughter out every day and had lots of fun at home, garden and muddy walks in the wood.
She has a lovely house and a nice garden where kids can play and explore. I got little updates and photos throughout the day which was so lovely. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

When I’m looking for childcare, Maira is the top bet. She is warm, friendly, and always calm. With her own children, aged two nine years, and a great history of teaching, both in London and in Norway, you can be extra confident your child is safe while also getting educated. Maira is comfortable with all childcare situations. Bring in a potty-training toddler and a rebellious six-year-old, and they will likely come home singing with home-made pizzas and paintings too.

Maira is always calm, warm and loving to my children. A great mum herself, she seems to have boundless energy to do lots with them. Whether baking at home, playing, dancing or exploring outside, she is a natural with children and knows how to keep them safe.
I would highly recommended Maira.
