Hi there. My name is Ollie and I am a qualified Primary School teacher and currently a qualified SENCo working in the senior leadership team at a large primary school in Essex.
Still being in the profession, I have up to date training in the latest methods and strategies to help ensure pupils from a multitude of backgrounds make accelerated progress.
Whether children require support with achieving their best in SATS, 11+ entrance exams or just to improve their general confidence in maths or English across the Primary School age range, I am here to help!
My sessions can be 1:1 or in small groups. I cater for all Primary School areas, particularly:

Maths reasoning and problem solving
English reading
English grammar, punctuation and spelling

7+ to 11+ exam preparation
Verbal reasoning
Non-verbal reasoning
Vocabulary building

Supporting homeschooling - setting work to cover the full curriculum

Lessons are usually one hour, and depending on current attainment levels, I am able to cover Maths and English in each lesson. If more time is required, I can offer further sessions at a reduced rate.
Should you wish, I can also set homework to help consolidate learning each week at no extra cost.
My Experience
I have worked in Primary Schools for 8 years. I have taught in all the age ranges in mixed and whole year group settings. I recently obtained my SENCo masters qualification and have been supporting pupils with additional needs and those struggling to make adequate progress achieve in all areas, as such I have a thorough knowledge of the current curriculum requirements. I work closely with Educational Psychologists and Consultants, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists and other professionals to ensure provision is of the highest quality. I train staff at the school in methods to facilitate progression in all areas of pupil learning.
Tuition will take place in your home, my home or via Zoom and it will be focused on your child’s specific needs which I am happy to discuss with you. In my experience, face to face lessons are more productive than distanced learning.
I would describe myself as a nurturing and relatable individual for pupils and acknowledge the importance of building confidence via praise. I thrive on making lessons fun, using high quality resources to provide memorable learning experiences. I believe in the empowerment of pupils ensuring they are involved and enthusiastic about their learning development.

I am trained in a variety of English and Maths teaching programs and use a range of resources dependent on your child's requirements
My Availability
I am only recently available as my previous Year 6 students have completed their 11+ and KS2 SATs.
