About Me
I am positive, energetic, patient and a very calm person. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I come from a country background thus I enjoy spending a lot of time outside. I am very good at thinking on my toes and using my initiative. I am very creative and enjoy baking, getting messy with paints and making play dough for the children in my care.
I enjoy a wide range of hobbies from gardening, dog walking and keeping fit with yoga and exercise classes.
I also enjoy reading books. I have grown up and gained most of childcare experience in the Midlands in Worcestershire. I have recently moved to Devon with my husband after I had my second child in May 2019.
My Experience
After I completed my CACHE Diploma in 2006 I worked as a nanny for a family of five children. With children aged between new born and 8yrs. I worked for the family for a year before I went on to study a BA Hons Degree in Early childhood studies at the University of Worcester. After completing my studies in 2010 I went on to work at a Nursery in Redditch, supervising the pre-school room with 24 children aged 3-4yrs and overseeing two members of staff. After working in the nursery I went on to work in a local SEN School in Redditch, to gain a wider range of experience with children that require an extensive array of needs.
After gaining a wide range of experience I returned to nannying for a farming family of three children. I worked for this family for four years. When I started working for them in 2013 the children were aged 3yrs, 2yrs and new born. I finished with the family due to my move in September 2017.
After having my first child in November 2017. I returned to part time work in May 2018. I started working as a nanny/housekeeper for a family of three children aged 4yrs, 6yrs, and 8yrs. I was very fortunate to be able to take my own child to work with me. I don't feel like this hindered my ability to be flexible as I was still able to provide babysitting, later finishing times and over night childcare when needed. I finished with the family in April 2019 to go on maternity leave.
My Qualifications
Seven GCSE'S between the grades B and D in English, English lit, Science (double award), History, RE, ICT, and Health and Social Care.
Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education.
BA Hons Degree in Early Childhood Studies.
Pediatric first aid.
My Availability
I am currently in the process of registering as a childminder. I have a little boy 5yrs old and a girl 4yrs old. Both children will be in Goosewell Primary school come September. I am hoping to return to childcare part time.
