My name is Caroline and my husband is Stephen. I have 2 children of my own, a daughter Rebecca who is 14 years old and a son Adam who is 11 years old. I am a registered childminder through Social Care and Social Work Improvement scotland (SCSWIS). I have been registered since June 2006 and have been enjoying my job as a childminder ever since.
I aim to provide a high standard of quality childcare in a family setting. . I aim to provide a caring environment in which children can learn and grow.
I will explore the needs of each individual child in my care taking into account race, language, culture, gender, ability and establish a routine suiting the child and their family.
I will provide variety of activities both active and quiet time to support each child’s learning, ability and age and stage of development. I plan and organise a full range of activities and ensure that all 5 key areas of learning from the Curriculum Framework 3-5 and Birth to Three documents are being addressed – Communication and language, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical development and movement, expressive and aesthetic development and emotional, personal and social development.
I aim to provide a wide range of opportunities for learning, in an atmosphere which encourages them to be excited about learning and I am aware of the main aspects of child development.
I take advantage of all local amenities – toddler groups, parks, playgrounds, community centres, soft play areas and libraries for Book Bug with permission of parents.
I create a positive ethos where children and parents are made to feel welcome within a safe environment.
I will offer a flexible service of full-time, part-time and before/after school hours. I will provide a flexible settling in period to allow children to move easily and happily from home to childminders.
Provide a service that is well managed and have effective relationships with children and parents.
I have been actively childminding since I registered in the year 2006.
I have gained experience, knowledge and skills in childcare through continuously seeking and attending childcare training courses.
I have also gained experience through having two children of my own.
