This childminder terminated our contract via text message whilst I was at work, despite providing us with a legal document stating that 5 weeks notice must be given from either party.
This was following my 11 month old baby girl's second full day in her care, and following only a handful of successful settling in sessions. My daughter was experiencing the onset of separation anxiety, and spent the day very upset and crying loudly. I was asked to collect her during my lunch break and in the days that followed received the text to say the childminder was ending our contract. I was, and continue to be extremely upset about this on behalf of my baby girl who needs people to support and nurture her, not give up after 2 days in a brand new environment.
