I am based in Articlave, approximately 4 miles out of Coleraine as you head to Castlerock or Benone.
I am a registered childminder with the north trust social services and am fully insured, both within my home and for taking the kids out in my car.
I regularly attend mums and tots groups, go to the library and explore outdoors. I feel it is very beneficial for children to experience variation and mix with other children as it helps with their physical, emotional and mental development.
I rotate my toys regularly to keep the children amused and entertained. We have story time and craft time, this can be messy, but very rewarding. Jigsaws and drawing helps with the children's fine motor skills, while dressing up and imaginative play allows the children to be who they want to be.
Crafts is a very important part of our learning experiences, the internet is an invaluable source of useful materials and templates to use a s a starting block to develop or adapt to suit the ages of the children.
At Claire Connolly Childminding we make use of the environment around us, from the garden outside, to the forest, beach, Mussenden temple and gardens we like to have outings as often as possible, we like to brave most elements and we always have coats and wellies to hand.
If parents consent we do like to take photos and share the kids experiences with yourselves through private mail or sometimes the good old method or visiting the photo booth at the chemist. Its good for parents to feel involved in the care I provide for your children and I welcome any feedback parents can provide to help provide an even better service to yourselves.
I have been working as a childminder for nine years now and really enjoy it and plan to do this for many more years to come.
I hold a first aid and foundation food hygiene certificate. I also attend any training courses available such as child protection, ashma aware and arts and crafts evenings geared towards preschool children.

I moved to Articlave 6 years ago. As a single parent trying to complete university, things were really hard. When I first met Claire she put me completely at ease, and so many years later I'm still so grateful for the help she gave me. She didn't mind taking on extra hours when I needed time to study, and my daughter still loves going round to her house to this day (and she's an 11 year old, so difficult to please!). I can honestly say I wouldn't have got through my degree without her. I cannot stress this enough - if you are looking for a childminder who will go the distance for you and your kids, then Claire is who you need!!!
