I am 23 years old and currently work at a day nursery in Otterbourne catering for children aged 3 months- 4 years. I live in Weeke in Winchester and have done for the past 4 years whilst I was studying for my degree at Winchester University- so I know the area well! I have been graduated and have worked at Yellow Dot Nursery for just over a year now!
My Experience
I have a wide and varied range of childcare experience from working as a mother's help supporting mothers with new babies, to helping out at my churches creche (0-3 year olds), nannying in my university holidays and doing after-school pick ups and drops offs around my lectures! This has included planning summer-holiday fun for children aged 18 months- 8 years old, taking them swimming/ to the park/ out on bikes etc. As well as providing food and daily care. I have a lot of experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs as well and have regularly acted as carer for my cousin with muscular dystrophy as well as supporting one-on-one a 5 year old with autism to enable him to attend my church holiday club. Since starting work at Yellow Dot Nursery I have worked in all the rooms; with babies, toddlers, transition and kindergarten aged children. I have also completed first aid, safe guarding, food hygiene, epipen and manual handling, makaton, boogie-mites music and movement and child behaviour training with Yellow Dot.
