About Me
Hello my name is Jodie and I am a qualified Childminder. I have 15 years experience working with children from birth to eight years of age, predominantly with the under 5's. I have worked in both nurseries and schools with children with a variety of needs. I have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and use children's interest to provide activities to develop their learning.
I have completed a NVQ level 2 and 3 in children's care and education as well as a Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning Support. More recently to this l have completed a Ba honours degree in Early Childhood Studies.
When I am not studying I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, shopping and socialising.
I love to learn and am always striving to ensure my knowledge on child development is current.
I am a very patient, friendly, reliable and trustworthy person.
My Experience
I have fiveteen years experience working with children in both nursery and school settings with children under the age of eight. The majority of my experience is with under fives meaning I have a sound knowledge of the EYFS.
I have experience in caring for newborns through having my daughter as well as experience working with children with Special Educational Needs through working on a one to one basis with a child with a global development delay as well as working alongside children with SEN within my previous settings.
Additionally I have babysat for families from the settings I have previously worked at. This involved collecting the children from nursery , helping with homework, entertaining them, providing healthy snacks, and getting the children ready for bed.
I believe with my experience as a parent combined with my experience in both nursery and school settings will enable me to provide a homely setting which is flexible and meets the needs of the local community.
I would just like to gauge interest due to there currently being no childcare facilities within the Sidlesham area.
My Qualifications
BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies (level 6)
Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning Support (level 5)
NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education
NVQ level 2 in Childcare and Education
First aid trained
Full driving License
Food hygiene
Trained in Child Protection

My Availability
Monday to Friday 8-5.30 with the option to add half an hour to the beginning and the end of the day to create a 7.30-6 session at an extra cost. Additionally morning and afternoon sessions will be available as well as school drop offs and pick ups at Sidlesham school.
