About Me

My name is Lisa Elsey and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live in New Haw with my husband, daughter (13yrs) and a son (9yrs).

I decided to become a childminder as I love children and get great fulfillment in watching them learn and helping them to develop and grow.

I am creative and love to bake and am a great believer that children learn through play. With this in mind, I will strive to ensure that all children in my care have the opportunity to achieve in all areas of development to the best of their ability whilst having lots of fun!

To make sure I meet the needs of the children I care for, I aim to work in partnership with parents and carers and promote good communication.

My qualifications include NVQ level 2 in childcare, paediatric first aid, paediatric anaphylaxis training, safeguarding and a parenting course. I have many years of practical experience not only with my own children but also with nieces and nephews.

I am able to collect from Sayes Court School, The Grange School and a number of local nurseries. I am also close to a number of toddler groups, a library, toy library and several parks.

My setting is a two-storey semi-detached house with a downstairs toilet and big garden. There is a playroom that leads off of the kitchen and onto the garden and there are lots of accessible toys for a range of ages. We have recently moved here and look forward to really making the most of planting flowers and vegetables, doing lots of messy play and finding bugs.

There is a separate front room which can be used for a sleeping child, as can the bedrooms upstairs.

I provide drinks and snacks and also healthy, balanced meals as required and include the children in some of the preparation for themselves and others.

As required by Osted, children’s development is recorded and assessed in accordance with Early Years Foundation Stage.
