About Me
Hello my name is Carolyn. I have been a childminder since 1986 and in November 2011 and February 2016 Ofsted rated me outstanding in every category. I live in Langney Point and I am a proud Grandmother of six.
I aim to provide a home from home environment that is warm, loving, caring, happy and relaxed. I treat each child as an individual in a stimulating and fun environment that encourages children to learn from their enjoyment and experiences, in and outside the home. I work closely with parents to provide the best care for the children to reach their full potential. I have two dedicated play rooms with an extensive range of toys, learning activities and dressing up to choose from, suitable for every age group. We sing, dance, do many arts & crafts and messy play. I have a safe garden with a Wendy house and outside play equipment.
We have weekly trips to Drusillas Zoo, Paradise Park, Miniature Railway, Treasure Island, Rockys, local Parks and the Beach.
My Experience
I am a Mother of two and a proud Grandmother of six. I have 29 years experience caring for babies, toddlers, pre-school and older children. Childminding them from small babies right through their school years.
I have minded siblings, cousins, and large family groups. I have recomendations from past and present parents of the children I have minded. The children I mind normally stay with me until full-time school and often up to their teenage years.
During this time I have looked after children from all walks of life whose parents are from all different backgrouds and professions.
My Qualifications
Invaluble 29 years of childminding experiences ranging from babies as young as 4 weeks up to teenage years. I was rated OUTSTANDING by Osted in every category of my childminding, and have been rated top marks for the last 3 inspections given, my last inspection being February 2016.
I work in the early years foundation stage and also birth to three years.
I have a paediatric first aid certificate (renewed 2014)
All required certification is up to date.
I can give references upon request.
My Availability
All week (except weekends)
I will happily do pick ups from Haven school, and would consider others.
I work from 07-00 am 7-00pm

Thank you for the excellent care and attention you have and continue to give our son Carolyn. You have welcomed him into your home and family as if he was one of your own, I could not be more pleased. He is extremely fond of you, Graham and Julie.
My little one started full time at Carolyn’s in 2012, he was 18 months. Everyday has been a new experience for him. The opportunities that Carolyn provides the children both at home - through circle time, play, craft (the list is endless!) - and whilst out and about, at Drusillas and Paradise Park; Treasure Island, Miniature Railway, play parks etc cannot be taught at nursery. Carolyn provides an environment that is safe and stimulating. The children in Carolyn’s care are actively encouraged to enquire and develop their skills of inquisition. Our son has a real thirst for learning. Carolyn recognised this in his early years and has nurtured it. At 2 years old he was learning his letters, he could confidently count beyond 10 and was starting to tell the time. Through their many trips to Drusillas and Paradise Park he talks enthusiastically about the world, the solar system and by far the best topic of all - dinosaurs(!). He continues to ‘wow’ me everyday with his level of intellect, knowledge and curiosity.
Carolyn teaches and reinforces social etiquette - sharing and conflict resolution. Discipline is a learning process too, yet rarely has to be enforced because of the underpinning work she does to help my son and the children in her care to understand the correct way to behave.
My little one loves being at Carolyn’s and is fast developing into a well rounded little(big) boy of 5. As his secondary carer Carolyn must take credit for the role she plays in who he is. He is a sociable, confident and contented boy - what every mother wants for their child. Carolyn has fully supported him in his preparations for school (physical, mental and social preparations). He was excited about starting in September and has settled in well. Carolyn continues to provide childcare to our son both before and after school. The rich tapestry of experiences and adventure continues.

Carolyn has looked after both of my little girls, and they adore her. Both have come on leaps and bounds since she has looked them, and have made so many friends! Highly recommended, friendly, loving atmosphere which means the children enjoy their time with Carolyn!
