Jay has been a very welcome addition to our household. Our children Eamon (4) and Orlaith (2) love her and so do we.

As an experienced nanny, Jay helped us to consider what she could do to help our family the most, understanding that there can not be a ‘one size fits all’ solution to childcare. Over that time, we regularly tweaked how it worked.

Jay said that a good nanny has the power to help every member of the family. A bold claim, but one she has absolutely delivered on. Early starts and late finishes can be part of every day working life. Jay offered stability to the household, picking up the slack when we needed her to and demonstrating flexibility.

She also helped with the children from a developmental point of view, creating games to help recognise letters and numbers and practice with writing.

Jay helped in a very practical sense: batch cooking for the freezer; helping with the family shopping; tidying up their bedroom and keeping on top of their laundry.

I’m not too sure who will miss Jay the most – me or the kids(!), but your childcare needs are always evolving and Orlaith needs to spend more time in the company of other children, so reluctantly, it’s time to say goodbye.
