I am an OFSTED registered childminder currently studying for an MA in childhood and youth and also have a degree (BA) in Early years. Working with an assistant we offer reliable, flexible, good value childcare. I have a clean driving license and fully comp insurance so we can enjoy day trips- which are enjoyed at no extra cost to parents etc... My husband and I offer places from birth within a loving 'home from home' environment.
Our days are quite flexible which allows the children's interests to influence the day and for play and activities to evolve accordingly.
We have a large very well stocked dedicated playroom offering a wide selection of educational and fun toys and welcome the children's input and ideas with a mix of adult /child lead activities: role play, messy play, dressing up, ICT, music etc... ensuring your children have fun filled days and return to you happy having had a great day.
Each child has suitable sleeping space (cot, travel cot, bed) in a room used only by them during the day to ensure each has the opportunity to nap undisturbed by others, and each child has their own bedding provided by either you or us.
We do have pets, however, as much as I love them and feel they are part of my family- They are not allowed in the dining room, playroom, or in the bedrooms where children sleep. By having this routine the children can have supervised access to pets and learn about responsibilities and caring for others whilst not being in too close contact.
Our own 'children' are now adults and are aged 21-24, the eldest has graduated with a 2:1 in Law, another has a 2:1 in Drama and the others are graduating this summer in Business and management (expected 2:1), and History with Politics (expected 1st class!)
We are very proud of our children and have been told by parents over the years that they are a great advert for us as carers- supporting children to achieve their goals whilst providing a warm, loving home. So we have plenty of experience as parents, however I also have around 18years experience working with children and have sat on 2 committees as a chairman for a local scouts group and for a local mums and tots group. Whilst my husband was in the Royal Air Force, I worked at several nurseries before registering as a childminder, over the years we have provided care for children from all backgrounds and with a varying degree of needs, we understand that you rely on us to work in order for you to meet your own commitments and as such we always provide parents with a leave request as close to the beginning of the year as possible and we do not take time off without giving ample notice.

I was nervous about having to go back to work and leave my baby girl with someone else. As soon as we met Amanda she put us at ease. My daughter crawled straight up to her and started interacting. This hadn’t happened with any other Childminder’s we had previously met. I felt this was a sign.
They were accommodating with my crazy working hours and my girl was so upset when we had to leave. Would highly recommend Amanda as she and mat are amazing with the kids and taught my daughter so much in the time she was there!

Thank you Nicci, We loved looking after our little ray of sunshine while you were working so hard looking after those tiny newborns that needed extra help. We still think very fondly of her and loved catching up a while back. You were a great parent to work with and made our job so much easier.
My son thoroughly enjoys spending time with Matt and Amanda and continues to develop and thrive in all areas with them.
We couldn't ask for better.

Thank you! he is such a darling to look after, love him so much! Always lovely to hear when parents and their little ones are so happy. XX
Amanda & Matt has been looking after my daughter for past 2 years and I must say I am definitely pleased by them. Varsha loves going to their place every day and for past few months she acknowledges me by "Matt Thank You". :D
They are extremely flexible and very sensible in their approach. Varsha gets a good balance of attention from both of them as they are different in their approach.
They carry a lot of experience with them and I can see a lot of good improvements with Varsha such as being courteous.
Thanks a lot for all your help and I would definitely recommend them any day.
Response by Amanda Hogan on 06/06/2014:
Thank you! it's always lovely to hear the positives. Varsha is a joy to look after with a smile that lights up the room! She is doing brilliantly and hopefully will continue to. xxx
Amanda looked after my children till they started school full time. My first boy was 6months old when he went to Amanda and he had multiple food allergies! Amanda treated him like she was his birth mother and went out of her way to learn more about allergies in babies so she could provide him with excellent care. Combining motherhood with a professional career is hard but I was so happy and confident in the care Amanda provided that I went ahead to have a second baby. I went back to work when he was five months and of course Amanda looked after him. I found Amanda to be professional, honest, open, reliable, dependable, organised, loving and kind to my kids. she potty trsined them and her home was just like home to the boys! It's been difficult explaining to my boys
why they can't be with Amanda everyday and I know they genuinely miss her. She's part of my family now and the boys will spend at least two weeks of their summer holidays with her every year. I would recommend Amanda without hesitation and if I have another baby, Amanda is the only childminder I'd allow look after my baby.
Response by Amanda Hogan on 29/08/2013:
So sorry I haven't responded sooner to this!
The boys as ever, will always be a part of my family and we have always enjoyed their company. They are 2 of the most wonderful children, and we are very glad to still be in theirs (and your) lives.
