About me:
I work with children as I find it a pleasure to be around them and find it to be a very rewarding job role. I like to do activities that help to stimulate children both physically and mentally (Reading stories, Painting, Arts and crafts, Walks, Park, Cooking, helping with homework ect) to help build a child's self confidence and self esteem to enable children them to have the best possible start in life.
I have a sound experience working with children of all ages, some of the roles I have done included: Swim school coordinator, Sports centre duty manager, Swim teacher/ coach, Lifeguard, Part-time nanny/baby sitter for family and friends, Volunteer and paid work within a child care setting/ nursery. I also have my own 2 children who are 3 & 4yrs of age so I know how demanding being a mum can be.
Im an outgoing person who enjoys participating in activities such as bike riding, dog walking, taking my children to the park, skating ect. I have been driving and owned my own car since 2006 and currently hold a FULL CLEAN drivers license
My Experience
My baby sitter roles have included looking after a wide age group mainly new born to 10 year olds while parents went out or to work:- School runs, feeds including cooking healthy dinners, changing nappies, playing games, taking children on outings ect. I have assisted with homework where possible and helped do light household chores to help assist families.
As a swim teacher and nursery and creche assistant Im required to look after around six - twelve children per class alone or with another staff member. In the nursery/ creche role I work with children from 3m – 6years and required to use games to assist with learning to ensure that the children would not get bored easily. I constantly find myself thinking on my feet to ensure that each child is taught on an individual basis, that helps to support them to learn the basic life skills needed for adult hood.
My Qualifications
I hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce
I'm enhanced CRB checked due to working with children daily
I attended Safe sleeping for babies and young childen course in march 2013
Im also Level 2 qualified in Swim Teaching and willing to take children swimming/ teach them how to swim if its something parents would like and are happy with.
