About Me

I am a canadian and I moved her when I was 18 as an au pair and moved back home a year and a half later. I really enjoyed it here so I moved back in 2013 and fell in love and got married and have been here ever since. I have a visa that allows me to work in england.

I am an active person love trying new things and traveling. I have also have a love for cooking. I love finding new healthy recipes and making healthy meals for my son.

I have a nearly 11 month old son Carter who I would like to bring along to work with me. He is a happy social little boy.

My Experience

Nanny:
Sept 2015- Aug 2018
I was responsible for 10 month old girl full time Monday to Thursday. I would take her to play groups and classes as well as outings and trips around London. Her mother then had another little girl in July 2016. From April 2017 I was in charge of both girls. I would do the nursery drop off and pick up, cooking, organising play dates, the girls laundry, tiding up toys and play time fun.

June 2014- Aug 2015
I was responsible for the complete care of two children, aged 3 months and 2 year old. My main responsibilities include; preparing meals and feeding the children, organizing and assisting with weaning process for the baby, assisting with bathing and dressing, overseeing playtime and planning playgroups, undertaking age appropriate creative and educational activities with the children. Providing boundaries and appropriate discipline for the children when necessary. My aim at all times has been to create and maintain a, safe, stimulating, and nurturing child care environment, in which the children can thrive and develop. Working with the children has helped me develop a wide range of transferable skills. I am able to adapt and respond to any given situation and can multitask effectively whilst displaying good judgment, planning and organizational skills. Having now been responsible for the supervision, wellbeing and development of several children from different families, I feel I have developed key skills and competencies to enable me to successfully continue to work and develop in this field. I would love to of carried on working for this family but the mother became unemployed.

Aug 3013- July 2014
I was responsible for the complete care of one boy age 10 months. I organized play groups and play dates that were age appropriate and educational. I was responsible for all aspects of the child’s care; establishing a daily routine for the baby to feel happy, healthy, confident and secure. I loved working for this family but they decided with a new baby on the way it was the right time to move back to their home town in Australia.

Feb 2011- Feb 2013
I was responsible for the complete care of two children, aged 6 months and 2 year old in Montreal, Canada. I looked after two french speaking children. One of my primary tasks were to teach the children english. My role was similar to the above nanny jobs. My responsibilities were to drive the older boy to and from nursery every morning, provide meals and a safe and fun environment for the children to strive and enhance their learning and creative abilities.

I can provide references from all of the above families. I am still in contact with all of the families.

Feb 2010- Sept 2011
Mothers helper
During my extended stay in England, I was responsible for three children aged new born, 4 and 6 years old as a live in mother’s helper. As well as assisting with the general daily care of all three children, a major part of my role was to supervise their 6 year old son who suffers from autism and severe epilepsy, often experiencing up to ten seizures a day. The family supported my training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help assist with his conditions. ABA is a psychological approach that seeks to use behaviorism to modify human behaviors as part of a treatment process.
I also trained in the Scotson Technique which uses the principal of light pressure applied to the key muscles involved in breathing and posture. Targeted manipulation of the diaphragm and other respiratory muscles serves to strengthen them and reduce the symptoms associated with his conditions. Being able to bond successfully with him and gain his trust, allowing for the techniques to be implemented was paramount.

Summer of 2009
Summer Champion Day Camp
I worked as a counsellor, responsible for the supervision and care of eighteen five year olds. I was responsible for all aspects of their care throughout the day including; chaperoning them during sports and arts activities, organizing leisure-time and supervising them during lunch and snack periods.

This was a very rewarding post and confirmed my desire to work with children in the future.

Seasonal 2005-2009
Ski Mont Gabriel
During the ski season I worked as a ski instructor (Level 1 certification) teaching children ages 3-12.

Supervising and teaching my students required a responsible attitude, coupled with effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of each child.
