About Me

Hello, my names Emma Hitchcock, I am a very creative person and like a challenge. I work well and would offer a stable routine for all children dependant on their age and stage of development. I like being outdoors and believe that children learn best by being outside and experiencing life. I like to swim and outdoors activities. I am very reliable and outgoing. I am available for weekend babysitting and evenings to begin with.

My Experience

I have travelled France and Switzerland, being a holiday nanny for many different families while they were on skiing holidays. looking afer a range of ages ranging from 5 week twins to 14yr old girls. This was a fantastic opportunity as i got to see some of Europe as well as work for some fantastic families. Before I went I was working in a nursery in Harrogate becoming a senior in a room. This gives me experience in all sorts of environments. I have the ability to think fast and on the go because being in a room with children of all disabilities gives the opportunities for anything to happen. I have worked with children from 0 to 8 but would love to work with any age. Before this I had worked in an elderly care home and loved the way that you give them what they need everyday. I have also done volunteer work in St Georges crypt in Leeds helping out with the serving of food.

I've worked in a nursery in Adel called Acorns for a year when came back from Switzerland. I now work with people with disabilities for a company called wilfward family trust. Shift patterns are pretty set so can offer upfront.

My Qualifications

I have completed an NVQ level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development. I have three A levels in art, photography and psychology as well as a varied selection of GCSE’s. I have been on a few courses with North Yorkshire county council, these include supporting Early Years Children with Sensory Impairment, Baby Signing and a Music, Rhythm and Movement for Communication and Language development. I have certificates in 12 hour paediatric first aid for child carers, food hygiene and a full UK driving licence with a pass plus certificate to go along side it. I have a large knowledge in the new EYFS curriculum and could incorporate it into everyday life if needed.

Epilepsy training. Moving and handling. All the basic courses to be able to work with people with disabilities and other needs.
