lovely childminder

Filomena has been looking after my Daughter since March 2015.

She is very friendly, professional and good with my daughter, she is always happy when I pick her up and seems to be learning something new all the time!

Filomena offers home cooked meals and has a lovely outside space for the children to play in when the weather is good.


I can't recommend Filomena highly enough.

Thank you so much for taking amazing care of my daughter.

Outstanding Childminder

My son has been with Filomena since he was just under 6 months old. I cannot put into words how incredible Filomena has been with him. He is due to start school September this year and I have no worries with his academics what so ever. From a baby who refused to do what was expected, she has encouraged him and educated him beyond anything. I have no doubt that he would not be as intelligent as he is, had he gone anywhere else. Her charges are minimal when compared with the standard of service And care she provides. I am devastated that my son will be moving on as it is impossible to keep him there. I would recommend her to anyone needing care for there child for all day or after school. she truly is an amazing woman.

Outstanding Duty Of Care

My son has been with Filomena since the age of 11 weeks, he is now 6 years old.
Filomena has been brilliant with him from such a young age. Her duty of care is outstanding, her attention to detail is amazing. Her facility is clean & child friendly.
She taught my son many things including; counting, ABC etc at a young age. Which has helped him now he's at school.
I cannot praise her more, she's caring, kind yet enforces disapline When needed.
I have had no worries about my son attending Filomena 4 days a week, and would HIGHLY recommend her!!

Filomena is a very good childminder.

My son has been under Filomena's care since September 2015. AS a parent it is challenging and stressful to find the right childminder to look after your child. I arrange a meeting with Filomena before I decided to put my son to her care. She is a very lovely lady. I saw my son feel comfortable with her and the play room is clean and tidy. The addition of a converted backyard is really nice as children can play outside when the weather is good.
I like the fact that she offers a fresh home cooked meals, very flexible with time and very considerate when my son is not feeling well. I have been very happy with filomena's service and will highly recommend to parents who are looking after a childminder you can trust.

Lovely childminder

My two boys were looked after by Filomena from age 2-8. She provides a very clean, calm, safe environment and they loved her home-cooked food. She has a tremendous warmth & knowledge about children. The main setting is on the ground floor and the garden has artificial grass so suitable in all weathers. Her husband also participates in the childminding. She lives conveniently close to Cranborne school for pick-ups & drop-offs. Recommend her for anyone looking for a homely, secure setting for young children.

Excellent Childminder and Warm Person

Filomena has been looking after my daughter (Janetta) for over 2 years now and Janetta loves it. My daughter enjoyed her outings with Filomena and her lovely husband Nick, her home is very child friendly and offers only freshly home cooked meals. Janetta won't stop talking about Filomena and the activities they have been doing during the day. It is very comforting to know your child is safe and happy in somebody else's home in your absence.Her development has come on immensely, she is happy, confident and loves the other babies and kids. They take her out to lovely places every day, and send pictures of the fun they are having, their communication is great and they are extremely child centered. I feel so lucky to have found Filomena and her wonderful helper - husband Nick. I would not hesitate to seek their services again if need arises. Would recommend to anybody.

Excellent childminder

Filomena has taken care of my daughter since May for two full days and since Sep during after-school hours and holidays and I find her care excellent. What struck me when I was looking around for a childminder was her deep understanding and knowledge about children. And after 8 months with her, what I can add about her is that she is very responsible and children come first to her. She understands parents' needs and can be flexible when needed, which is very important for me.

Under her care, my daughter flourished from a little toddler who didn't talk much to a proper pre-school girl who is confident to talk to anyone. She has grown from someone who had never held a pencil to someone who can write all the alphabets, her name and all the numbers and can identify most of them. She has also become close friends to the other children at Filomena's whom she is delighted to meet at the school as most of them go the same school.

Her facilities are excellent and my child is always well fed. She is also taken outdoors to shops and parks depending on the weather.

I would not hesitate to recommend Filomena to anyone who is considering her for their child.

The best childminder in potters bar

My son has been going to filomena since 3 months. And to say he loves it would be an understatement.i initially started sending him to day care where he would cry his eyes out and get sick but when I started sending him to filomena he was so happy and well settled it was unbelievable. She is an amazing person totally flexible about timings and loves kids to bits. I can totally trust her to look after my son .she also takes them to park when the whether is good and genuinely cares for the kids.my son loves going there so much that as soon as he gets up he runs and gets me his shoes so that I take him to filomena .he has learned so much in such short time is really amazing. Thank you filomena for being there. Your a star. God bless.

We recommend Filomena (5 Star!)

We'd like to make a recommendation for Filomena Rushton who has child minded our two twins, one boy, one girl (now 10 years old) for around 3-4 years. Filomena started to mind them every wednesday evenings since they started in the Junior School and also minds them regularly for full days in school holidays. Quite simply we would not be able to both work full-time without the support of Filomena. The best testament is that both our twins avidly look forward to their wednesday evening sessions and especially when they spend much longer there in school holidays.
The facilities at Filomena's home are excellent and are able to keep our twins occupied, happy and also well fed I should add, a challenge that we constantly face at home. So if you are thinking of considering Filomena as a childminder for your children, I would strongly recommend you meet with her, see the facilities as I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Warm and welcoming

Filomena's home/setting is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my two kids have great fun playing with the other children and all the toys and activities available in her care. Beyond all this, it is Filomena's warm, friendly and especially flexible approach that made me choose her as a childminder for my two kids.
She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise. Filomena also has a good range of learning resources. Filomena's husband who is her helper provides the necessary help and support when at home.
When either of my kids step outside their boundaries she responds with firm but kind discipline explaining and making them understand of what kind of behavior is expected from them.
Filomena provides healthy snacks and balanced meals with plenty of drinks throughout the day. She also ensures that children in her care observe good personal hygiene.
Filomena communicates with me and provides feedback an what the Kids will have done during the day.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care Filomena provides.
I would absolutely recommend Filomena as a great and reliable childminder.
